Active Sky Cloud Art for FSX & P3D - Released!

Recommended Posts

Nice shots :-) Should be the same cloud selection as with ASN? Or do you use ASCA with only structures?

Would be nice if HiFi could give the user an option to save sets and which ASCA then chooses from ;-)

Using ASCA with "Full Dynamics". I'm talking about the make up of the clouds, you often see repeated clouds and patterns everywhere you turn. Just in my screenshot, I see 3 identical puffs;

See that behaviour all over the place with ASCA, same with Cirrus clouds that are fully repeated multiple times.

It seems to catch my eye every time.

Maybe you already did, but I would post at the HiFi forums so they can have a look at it.

Not my cup of tea wait for New skyforce - but you can use all three if you wish - they have patched it so it does not overwrite REX tetures now

Thank you! Not thinking of myself as a REX ###### but Weather Architect plus Essentials Plus Overdrive w/ a simple weather engine...plus Texture Direct and yes even Soft Clouds (Yuk!) I say yuk as I like more defined clouds, kick proverbial behind!!

Driving tubes for years and mastering FMC (sids and stars) I'm more rustic in my sim immersion, espessially @ 4K. Rex Weather Architect w/P3D v3.3.5 is a superior way to create weather for your special flight plans!

Happy skies Rich.

I'm loving both of these addons. I encountered bad weather approaching KMCO and it threw my Airbus around hard enough to make the autopilot go crazy.

So far the Dynamic textures combination has been really nice. I got to see something like this with ASCA today. At least the color of the sky and not exactly the clouds.

I have a strange issue at the moment.

Got a warning in cruise: "Pack Mode L". You get this when a pack is in stby due to high outside temp.

The 777 displays -9° C at FL370.

AS16 shows this:

Any ideas?!

Your TAT of -10C would be about right. The static OAT in the AS16 winds forecast shows -34 at FL 340, and -47 at FL380. That is very warm - about 13 degrees warmer than standard ISA at those altitudes.

Based on the current position LAT/LON, you appear to be over Bangladesh. I just checked the NOAA upper winds and temperature forecast for that location, and it shows the same data as AS16.

Though a TAT of -10 at FL370, is very warm, it's definitely not unusual for this time of year. I'm not sure if that would be enough to cause a Pack overheat though.

Thanks Jim.

Yes I was on the flight from Dubai to Hong Kong somewhere over the Indian subcontinent :-)

Had a nice little experience. Climbing out of EKCH, with some nasty grey weather on the ground, then breaking through the cover to see the towering clouds.

The many duplicate clouds are ruining the overall experience a little though

Do you have HDR turned on? I like the natural tones on your screenshots, and was wondering how you got them?

Both HDR and a ReShade :)

Ah thanks. I don't have ReShade, maybe I should give it a try...

In light of that (pun intended), what are your ReShade settings?

Did a flight from EGSS to LEPA in stunning weather over Europe with the current METAR using AS16 and ASCA.

I love the haze that this hot weather generates...  **black screens in VC are not an error, I ported them to other displays**

These are for the 2.0.3f1 version, just replace the entire folder; https://www.dropbox.com/s/vek2svn0x7ns2ce/ReShade.7z?dl=0

You can tweak the settings by editing the Shaders_by_CeeJay.cfg located in ReShade\Presets\Default.

Made them for my IPS monitor, so if you're on a TN panel they might seem a bit bright. Especially look at "USE_REINHARDLINEAR 1", turn that off or down,, as that brightens the image a bit.
