November 30, 20169 yr Upgraded to XP11 today and downloaded full beta. I, for one, think it's a great improvement from an already enjoyable platform XP10. Just a couple of questions: - Do add-on planes and scenery work in the full beta? I've tried adding planes but they don't show up in menu. Am I doing something wrong? - Is it possible to adjust Views? I'm not a TrackIR person but I love the EZDok-like feel of the custom views in XP10. Can't seem to figure how to replicate in XP11 Overall, I like the sim a lot. Looking forward to more improvements.
November 30, 20169 yr Commercial Member As an FSX guy, I recently downloaded the XP10 demo to check out whether now is the time to invest in XP or transition from FSX to P3D. I was blown away by what I saw in the XP10 demo. Just beautiful. And, it ran well on my older system. It even out performed my FSX setup with GEX + UTX + REX + FSGENESIS. Last night, I downloaded the XP11 demo. Definitely slower (which, I understand is due to it being beta). But, flying at KSEA during the day at 8-12fps, I didn't see the big difference between the XP10 and XP11 demos as far as rendering. What should I be looking for that will make me say, "Wow! This is a lot better than XP10"? The new user interface is okay, but I do prefer the XP10 demo interface because of the access I had to all the the little details. (Granted, it took me a couple hours to digest all the details I had access to.) Anyway, I'm still trying to decide whether to purchase XP11. This forum has been helpful as I mull over my decision. If you purchase xplane from Laminar you get both xp10 and xp11 so that way you do not have to choose. REX AccuSeason Developer REX Simulations
November 30, 20169 yr Jcomm, You mentioned; "Performance is even better ( maybe due to yesterday's patch ? )" Which patch? I am still at Ver 11.00pb1 build 110007. Did I miss the bus??? Chuck Ooops, soory, just logged in now - didn't see your message, but Murmur already explained :-) I use the "xp11 installer" in the XP11 folder also - it's also the only way I found to install further scenery areas. I'd create the same three folders that you see in XP10...General Aviation, Big Iron, etc...and then just port over the ones that you want. Then...look carefully at the new plane XP11 G.U.I., and you will see them in each of the folders you just created, etc... Be warned, that some planes will not load for two reasons: 1. It doesn't have the new FMC/GPS that comes with, and XP11 expects to see in the panel... 2. Airfoils are wrong or missing (again...what XP11 expects to see for an airplane model). The airfoils will crash the sim after it tells you that it cannot load in the missing airfoil. Nothing fatal...but that's about it. You'd start up XP11 again, and avoid that offending aircraft you ported over.
November 30, 20169 yr Ok, activated my copy of XP11 and installed Europe and Western USA. Other regions will follow. Performance is even better ( maybe due to yesterday's patch ? ) I am really enjoying XP11 - LPPT was filled with aircraft at their parking slots, and the scenery looks a lot more realistic than in XP10 in Lisbon town and surrounding areas. jcomm i assume you are from my country if you are enjoying LPPT can you shoot some pic from there please, just to see how LPPT looks like in XP11 vanilla. Thank you Me too...just did a complete INSTALL WORLD. Here are those two sites: I just tried another Alaska site...and it said that I'd only see water, would I like to install the scenery? Well..I had just finished installing the whole world from Laminar's servers. They do NOT have the whole world up on their server for XP11. Parts of Alaska are not within the download server database. What's up with this?!?!? i saw one of that sliding on the runnway in tacoma lol it's a bug Marques Ryzen 7 [email protected] | Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360| RTX 4070 ti | 32GB Ram @5600MHZ| Crucial MX 200 M.2 500GB |Crucial MX200 SATA 500GB | HTC Vive | XIAOMI 43" 4k TV | Acer Predator 27" G-Sync | AOC 32" Freesync

Anyway, there's always a great scenery at the .ORG for Lisbon airport and surroundings: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/21162-lppt-lisbon-portela-airport/ I didn't install it yet in XP11, but it has a few library dependencies. There is a very good application for fetching libraries required for various sceneries, but I don't recall it's name right now :-/ Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
November 30, 20169 yr Is there an update around 360 MB ?? I am not sure if it's an update because I have the XP10 mesh sitting XP11 due to the tiles missing. But anyway i am letting it update. Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus

Planes and sceneries add ons do work in beta full copy but most of xp10 planes needs to be upgraded by devs to be fully compatibe. Xp10 Sceneries are fine. For views there is x-camera freeware. November 30, 20169 yr They still haven't addressed the issue where Saitek throttles don't work with the "throttle" assignment.

November 30, 20169 yr Is there any plugin for sunrays ? Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
November 30, 20169 yr Is there any plugin for sunrays ? Yes and No. SkyMaxx Pro has such a feature. But I think only the upcoming 4.0 will be really adapted to X-Plane 11. Karsten Schubert

November 30, 20169 yr If you want to add a little bit more punch to Haze City for free, you can always use Reshade. It works just fine with X-Plane 11. Here are some screenshots for comparison, taken at the same moment with just Reshade toggled on and off. I only used Luma Sharpen and Curves to compensate for the FXAA blur and to add contrast. Click on the thumbnails to open the original images. 1. Cockpit view without/with Reshade 2. Scenery view without/with Reshade
