RealAir Simulations Closure

Featured Replies

The Turbine Duke for Prepar3D was a work of art.   If the store ever opens again, I'd love to purchase at least one more aircraft.   Meanwhile, enjoy retirement knowing you've enhanced and touched so many lives.   God Speed.

Peter

Thank you guys for all you have done for everyone. I hope the best for you both.

Rob & Sean,

Thank you for your wonderful efforts and additions to the FS community over the last 16 years, I will you both the best of luck.

Cheers,

Jamie

Hi Rob,

although we never met this feels quite a bit like loosing someone who you always could depent on. A safe haven in case of trouble. Even as today, and the last couple of weeks as we tried to solve a problem,

you always took the time to provide replies as soon as possible. Very personal contact, that's how I felt it. All the credit to you and Sean for giving the sim world some outstanding airplanes. You were trailbreakers for high end airplanes with only minor companies that can follow in your footsteps. It was a shock that I found out about the closure of RealAir the minute I wanted to buy the TurbineDuke. I was planning it for weeks but always something came up, I'll do it tomorrow,  and now it's to late. I'm mad about myself  grrr......

A throughly sad thing for the sim world. But there are more important things than this in life. So it's from the bottom of my heart that I wish you, and Sean and of course Carla all the best, fingers crossed.

Thanks for the fantastic support through the years and enjoy your well deserved retirement. Good luck !

Dear Rob & Sean:

I hope Carla could be fine soon, and you can find the peace of mind that you all need an deserve now.

You have made an incredible, awsome job. As you can see in this forum, there are a lot of people that feels like me: you have created a reference of perfection in the AirSim world. I have purchased several of your planes: SF260 for FS9 and for FSX, Scout pack for FSX, and Legacy for FSX. I still remember the feeling, the first time I started the Legacy and she began to vibrate! I thought: they made it again, they are genious! Now, I would like to have purchased your entire fleet! I can assure you that it was my plan.

I would like to put the focus in an aspect of your planes very important to me: the quality of your visuals. There is nothing equal, IMHO, in the Sim world, maybe with the only exception of SamDim products. Other designers think that realism is photoreality, but you have found a very special way of create realism ilusion that I love absolutely: all the details, but with simulated textures, without trying to picture them. It is very difficult to me explaining it well, in this bad "horringlish" that I can use, but I want to say it. All in your planes is elegant: you always choiced elegant planes, and the look of your VC's is georgeus. The problem is that, after using your models, almost all the others seems to me lacking of your "touch".

So, my dear friends, I appreciate very much your works, and I can tell you that your planes will continue being my default GA ones during a very long time, they are the most precious treasure in my Sim hangar.

Best wishes,

By best wishes for you and your families.

I really enjoyed (and still enjoy) the B60 Duke V2 (not turbine)

Waiting for the 64-bit PSION Flightsim for ZX-Spectrum ////

Agreed. A2A and RealAir were in a space all of their own. Now, what if A2A got their hands on both flavours of Duke, and the Lancair and...Accusimmed them...

I absolutely agree! It seems such a waste to see such amazing products (I have the Legacy and both Dukes as well as the Scout and Spitfire) just fall by the wayside. I would have thought another quality developer like A2A would consider adopting them and taking them forward in the ever evolving flightsim world, where surely their reputation would ensure a steady stream of ongoing sales?

But, once again Rob and Sean, a resounding thank you from me and best wishes to you both and to your families.

Best of luck to both of you and hope for a recovery for Sean's partner. I have loved RealAir planes since the update to the default C172 years ago. I agree with others please let others continue your fine work for the community. I never purchased the v2 Turbine Duke only the Duke and am regretting that now...

Best turboprop ever. Believe me, there is no hype in this.

I hesitated because I fly a lot at night, and the night lighting in the Duke v2 did not have the options I liked. I prefer a dome light and gauge backlight option separate but the regular Duke did not give it to me, I could edit the panel files but only get one or the other.

I regret not having bought more than the SF260. I was considering the Legacy and either one of the Dukes but never got around to it thinking that I'd be able to pick them up whenever. Wish that we could have gotten some notice that they were closing so we could make some last purchases knowing it would be the last chance but it is what it is and the things they are dealing with are more important.

Yes, having a one-week "Store Closing" sale would have been nice. I regret that I never got around to buying any of their products... :fool:

Maybe a little pressure...and love...from the fanbase will bring him around.
