February 12, 20179 yr I appreciate your insight. I asked because N475MC is one that has the notation of "© Denotes accurate and verified configuration.", which turns out not to be true. So perhaps it would be best to scrap the accurate configuration promise entirely, and allow people to configure on their own, as you mentioned. http://www.avsim.com/topic/503808-747-400-company-configuation-files/page-2 David Lee
February 13, 20179 yr Commercial Member Updated: Qantas Airways VH-OEI (400ER) - texture fixesAdded:Singapore Airlines Cargo - 9V-SFI (400F) How accurate are these configs? N475MC, for example, has LCD screens in PMDG's configs, but CRT screens in reality. The config was created by a pilot at the airline - there's only so much we can do here, it's not like we're sending out inspectors from PMDG to each real airframe and combing through it. If something's wrong and you can verify it. (ie, you work for the airline in question as well, you have a photo taken yesterday, etc, then let me know and I'll change the config) What we're not going to be doing is changing stuff that comes from our tech team members on the basis of "some guy on the forum said it's actually X" without any other evidence - there needs to be an authoritative source. Not very to be honest, G-VROM for example, many things different from reality in PMDG's configs. G-VROM is not marked as being an accurate config in the first place. In general, for liveries that are not marked accurate, I do a cursory check of the photo websites to see if I can find any shots of the cockpit of the aircraft - if none exist, it stays as the default config that the PMDG House Livery loads up with, with the exception that I will change the weight and temperature units if I'm sure I know what it uses (ie anything outside of the US is going to be KGS and C) and certain external things like the antenna configuration. February 13, 20179 yr Updated:Hi Ryan. Can you take a look at the Cathay 744ERF - the engine textures are all messed up, looks almost like the PW textures have applied to the GE or something similar. Thanks Wes Wes Meyer
February 13, 20179 yr Anyone wanting a start on G-VROM config, change: anti-ice to auto option, ISIS to analogue standby instruments, CRTs to LCDs, GPWS you want 1000, 500 on 'smart' and 50/40/30/20/10 You'll be getting nearer the truth with those - haven't the time to post more at the mo A

Hey Ryan, "you have a photo taken yesterday"....I think that is the key Ryan. Folks who claim a config is wrong based on a video or pic they saw on the internet are sometimes making the claim from a source that could be years old. I'm not saying the config is still not accurate, but as we all know...things change. I think the biggest takeaway here is that you guys gave us the ability to change so many config items to completely customize our Queens that we should really focus on just providing the info we've found, including the date of the reference and then let each simmer decide if they want to use that config. This "My config is better than yours" contest some want to engage in is rather silly in my opinion, and arguing about who's is more accurate is moot unless you're responding to the post from the cockpit of the actual aircraft. February 13, 20179 yr Hello pilots, Is it possible to do this baby? https://www.planespotters.net/photo/682151/hz-wbt7-kingdom-aircraft-ii-llc-boeing-747-4j6 https://www.planespotters.net/photo/632359/hz-wbt7-kingdom-aircraft-ii-llc-boeing-747-4j6 Thanks Marco Sarube
February 13, 20179 yr Commercial Member No one is up for Hawaiian Air? I would do it myself but it seems there is more to just painting for this aircraft. Several engines so select from so do you paint the all or? Also this config stuff is out of my pay grade. Paul Grubich 2017 - Professional texture artist painting virtual aircraft I love. Also this config stuff is out of my pay grade. Paul, please go ahead with the paint. I look forward too it. I wouldn't worry about the engine type or config. You can choose what engine type you would like on it, and if people want another engine, they can paint their own Hawaiian Air scheme. For the config file, I would ignore all the OCD responses in this thread. People can edit the config files to their liking. I don't get why people are complaining about the config files, if XXX airline has different options than the one's presented in Ryan or Steve's repaints, you are certainly welcome to change the settings yourself. It's not like the configs are set in stone or anything. Cheers TJ "The knack of flying is learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." - Douglas Adams Tejon 'TJ' Stanley

February 13, 20179 yr Taking a browse through the list, seems like there are a lot of liveries out there! One I hope to see is Asiana 747-400M. They still have 2 flying along side the regular 747-400's. Can't wait to get my hands on the queen soon. Cheers, Sante Sottile
February 13, 20179 yr Geeze, so much hoopla over the configs. If only you had the ability to reconfigure.. Oh wait, you do. Cheers,John TavendaleTextures by Tavers - https://www.facebook.com/texturesbytavers
