How many are planning on buying the Queen V3 for FSX

I changed over to P3D several years ago and never looked back. I will buy the 747 if PMDG guarantees that when P3D upgrades to 64 bit they will not charge for the 747v3 64 bit upgrade for current 747v3 owners.

I plan on getting it for P3D eventually. Not right away though. Maybe around tax time if I'm lucky.

I may buy it after I see what happens with others running it on P3D.  Every new release of anything has bugs the beta testers miss so I'll wait for a couple of SP's.

It also depends on the price.

And, I'll probably wait to see if when LM releases a 64 bit sim.  But then all my planes will be obsolete so I dunno yet.  I'd have a 64 bit sim with one plane, a 747 but I like low and slow over Orbx.

I made the switch to P3d, a couple years ago.A good move for me, as I have saved a lot. And the performance is so much better. Most add-ons will work on P3D.

The   MD11, is surely missed though...

Edit

I'll wait about a week, after release for things to settle down, then purchase if the price is right...........

Why go with a boxed version of FSX? The Steam Edition has been re-compiled and re-optimized, also it's been set up to handle VAS and memory management in a much more efficient manner. I find it much smoother and fluid Etc. My boxed version has been sitting on the shelf for ages. When the grand kids grow up a bit more I will build em a machine and let them play with it.

Send me a PM, maybe I can help you!

Your choice of course.

Oh? How is this? To the present day I have always been using my FSX boxed version; in fact, just reinstalled it one week ago when I moved to Windows 10. When the Steam edition came out I was like "well, I already have my physical copy, so why change?", but never really investigated or thought the Steam edition did have improvements.

My question is: is there maybe a way to port my physical version to Steam and have a discount or do I have to re-purchase? If there are evident improvements in the Steam edition -which I haven't ever experienced as I have never used said version- then I will get it right away and postpone my migration to Prepar3D...

Thank you by the way BaldyB for your heads-up!

Yup. FSX-SE for me too. Not really into too much long haul, but there's a 400D in there, fortunately.

Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

I was originally not excited about the 744. I already have the T7 for long hauls. As the screenshots and videos came out it all changed. It's a PMDG aircraft so that alone triggers excitement. They make incredible aircraft so it has become a day 1 purchase for me. P3D

Definitely.

Staying with FSX now because I still want to fly the MD-11. I'll probably get to a different platform someday and I would probably already be in P3D if the MD-11 were legally used in that sim.

I already have the FSX 747, 777, 737 MD11 why would I buy the same shoes with different shoe laces. unless they give a discount, No I will not.

Depending on the level of work required, a small upgrade fee may be appropriate ($15-20). They did say with the P3D versions of the T7 that it would carry us through to 64-bit, so I don't see why the 744v3 would be any different.

Sadly this will be the first major PMDG release that I will not be purchasing. My days of FSX and P3D are over, I am now in the world of X-Plane and I hope to see the NGX pave the way for modern airliners from PMDG into X-Plane this year!

Yes, I'll be getting it for FSX:SE. Reasons: not only will I be unable to upgrade my six-year-old rig anytime soon, but I still fly quite a few older addons that I doubt would be easy to get working in P3D.

Fsx with the dx 10 fixer is just fine for me. Can't wait anymore!!

No there is no way to get the Steam Edition for free or for a discount if you have the boxed version. Boxed version was sold by microsoft, and Steam Edition by Dovetail Games. But just add the steam edition to your wishlist in steam if you want it it regularly goes on sale for about 7€, just be patient and you'll have it for not much :)
