Seems like all the SLI issues that I had with HF2 have been resolved. Using latest NV driver with no issues.

Do I understand correctly that there is no benefit for those of us who don't use SLI?

Guys, let's remember that people will be reading these posts weeks and months from now...when they read non-specific info like "using the latest driver" they won't have any idea what the latest driver was back in the beginning of Feb 2017.

Pleeeeease...mention OS, video card, and driver for both success and failure reports, as the whole combination is important...what works on a pair of 780s on Win 7 using 168.78 isn't necessarily going to help a guy with Win 10, two 1070s, and 173.03 etc etc

Thanks

If you dont run SLI I see nothing there to upgrade to!

Prepar3D v3.4 Hotfix 3 Fixes and Improvements
    • Fixed performance issues when using SLI
    • Fixed user interface flickering when using SLI
    • Fixed particle flickering when using SLI
    • Fixed an issue where the main window would not restore to maximized state after being minimized
    • Fixed an issue where the main window would be minimized in the top left corner of its tab after changing modes in SimDirector
    • Fixed an issue where loading would potentially hang at 100 percent
    • Fixed a crash when loading multi-window VR scenarios
    • Fixed an infinite loop hang when loading multi-window VR scenarios
    • Fixed a bug that prevented avatar collision with other objects
    • Fixed a hard crash when using weapons in a multiplayer session
    • Fixed an issue where weapon selection would no longer work after using the avatar to attach to another vehicle in a multiplayer session
    • Fixed an issue where orientation was not correctly being processed by the GetScreenCoord PDK function
    • Added SensorModeNone and SensorModeGDATA custom camera post processes
    • Fixed a hard crash when decoding certain METAR strings depending on the given wind speed units

The new AS16 Cloud art patch does look good.

Changelog:

AS16
– Fixed an issue where custom weather METAR was not included in current_wx_snapshot.txt
– Added functionality where Disabling cloud motion effect (cloud options) now prevents all high-res cloud detection and should improve performance when in/near clouds
– Attempted improved P3D volumetric fog visibility blending to prevent visibility from rendering too low in certain cases as well as improving performance
– Fixed a get runway API issue
– P3D Compatibility Updates for version 3.4.22.19868
– Added new Random Light Chop Percentage option, default 25%, which controls the frequency of experience random light chop turbulence independent of weather conditions
– Adjusted wind/jet layer boundary turbulence triggers to be less severe based on user feedback
– Fixed annoyance issue where AS wx theme would not be selected in saved flights as a BMP theme file was missing (did not affect weather depiction, only wx theme name shown in saved flights)
– Added reference to FSX:SE with explanation of potential path names within Simconnect chapters of the user’s guide
– Improved documentation regarding maximum wind shear setting affecting gusts, and added this notation in the options detail (options UI)

ASCA
– Adjusted all overcast models for increased performance
– Added new Overcast Quality slider setting providing 3 options: High Performance (full left), Balanced (middle) and High Quality (right). Higher performance = less coverage and higher frame rates. Higher quality = more coverage and lower frame rates. Defaults to Balanced, which is improved in frames approximately 20% from previous SP1 overcast, with minimal coverage loss.
– Updated documentation to reflect changes, and added a Performance Considerations section which is a recommended read for all ASCA users.

This does apply to me, too. However I'll update despite, after waiting for a few days as usual of course.

Given that LM can be expected to release the much awaited P3D 64 bit pretty soon, the present state of the art of Prepar3d3 may be the final frozen 32 bit version with all the present addons working. Something like FSX SP2, but (hopefully) not that long with us.

Kind regards, Michael

I agree Michael.

Will update HIFI tonight as that is a real good patch. NAV 1702 hit today also.

The volumetric Fog issue is still party there.

Only now you have an extra haze layer below 150 nm compared to below 100 nm before.

It is less thick so that has improved.

I was able to beta test this version and came up with :

- max cloud DD 125 ( higher does nothing )

- min/max Upper vis 150

- Turbulence effect 10

- Winds 35

I also use PTA with a little haze and raleigh effect to compensate not using vol Fog or AS16 second haze layer.

That combo makes it look great.
