Put this file into ...\Realair\Simobjects\Airplanes\RealAir Duke Turbine V2\panel\ (replace the 32bit version). Done Cheers, Chris But I don't have a RASDukeTv2_Sound.gau in my Realair\Simobjects\Airplanes\RealAir Duke Turbine V2\panel folder to actually overwrite.... This is what my Panel folder looks like... June 30, 20178 yr 25 minutes ago, ddawson said: It is really important that you put the new gauge in the same folder as the one it is replacing. Before you put anything anywhere, look in panel.cfg for the name of the old gauge and then find that gauge. Then you know where to put the new one, whether you are renaming it or not. In my panel.cfg Gauge 21 looks like this RealAir Duke Turbine V2/Panel/Sound/RASDukeTv2_Sound.ini So do I dropped the renamed .GAU file into \Panel\Sound? If the answer is yes I don't actually have a .GAU file in \sound to overwrite so that can't be right? The only .GAU file I have is in my RealAir\Gauges folder, I have overwritten that with your file and it didn't work So I'm well and truly confused, copying one file should not be this difficult! Lol. June 30, 20178 yr I will check my panel.cfg when I am at home... I used the add-on.xml method to set all correct paths. Regards, Chris -- PC: Intel 13900K, Gigabyte Geforce RTX 4090, 64GB Fury Beast DDR5 RAM; Display: Varjo Aero VR
June 30, 20178 yr sidfadc, Could you please post the entire line from panel.cfg, not just the parameter. Also, please post the contents of the .ini file itself. I don't own these products so I can only work with what you guys post here. Doug
June 30, 20178 yr Thanks Doug, for the record the only .GAU file in my entire Real Air folder structure lives in the Gauges folder titled RASDukeTv2_Sound.gau. I took your updated file, renamed it to RASDukeTv2_Sound.gau then dropped it in the gauges folder, yes to overwrite. No sound still from switches/flaps etc. I have the turbine duke V2 installed via the add on.xml method if that helps or not. June 30, 20178 yr sidfadc, You will see that all those path references, both for the .ini itself and the sounds, start with '.' They are all relative the the main p3d folder, not the folder where the gauge resides. So... Open the p3d\SimObjects\Airplanes folder. Create a folder called RealAir Duke Turbine V2 Copy the panel folder from your DTv2 install into this new folder. You don't have to copy the whole aircraft installation, just the panel folder. You should now have a folder called ./SimObjects/Airplanes/RealAir Duke Turbine V2/Panel/Sound and all those path references should resolve correctly. Edit: You can reduce the gauge's memory and cpu utilization slightly by changing the MaxSounds parameter from 70 to 61.
June 30, 20178 yr Done that Doug thanks for the help really appreciate it however nothing has changed...still no sounds? Confirm I should have your file residing in D:\Users\xxxxx\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\Real Air\Gauges named RASDukeTv2_Sound.gau ? This all stems from me installing the Duke via the add on xml method, maybe its just easier to install the turbine duke back into the main P3D folder and start over. I've been at this all day!! I am computer savvy I really am but this is so frustrating. I'm almost giving up. Ha!! Thomas Derbyshire
June 30, 20178 yr I'm guessing the gauge itself is not loading. You're not getting a pop-up message about it not finding the config file are you? Move (don't copy) the gauge into the p3d gauges folder. I'm guessing that after this adventure, you will remember that it is there when you next upgrade p3d versions and have to copy it back in. I have avoided using those damned xml files to configure add-ons. I used the command line utility to add additional search paths for both aircraft and for gauges.

I installed the Turbine the normal way by pointing it to the P3D v4 folder and everything went in fine
June 30, 20178 yr I'm uninstalling now and starting from scratch, going to put the Duke in my default P3D folder. I've tried that many things I don't know if its arsehole or breakfast time anymore. Thomas Derbyshire
June 30, 20178 yr 2 hours ago, ddawson said: This I can help you with... In @supertemp post above, you will see that some of the sounds listed have negative integer values listed after their names. These values represent attenuation, in hundredths of decibels. By adding such a value to the line for the offending sound, you can reduce its volume. The maximum attenuation possible is 100db, using a value of -10000, but I suspect that only your dog will be able to hear the sounds if you use an attenuation of any more than about 35db (-3500.) DirectSound does not support amplification, so you can't make the sound louder using this method. Why are the sounds too loud now ... using the original attenuation values? Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
June 30, 20178 yr Holy moly quacker moly!!! I've fixed it. Right for anyone who is sniggering at my desperate posts this is what I did. I installed the Turbine V2 into my native \P3D installation, gave up on the add on xml method. I took Dougs file, renamed it to RASDukeTv2_Sound.dll and copied it into \P3D\SimObjects\Airplanes\RealAir Duke Turbine V2\panel PLEASE NOTE: I didn't need to overwrite any files because one didn't exist in the first place. I then DELETED RASDukeTv2_Sound.gau from \P3D\gauges All sounds are now active. Thanks for everyone's help!! Trouble is now I have ran out of time and need to go and pick my daughter up from after school club! Damn!! Thomas Derbyshire

June 30, 20178 yr Just now, Bert Pieke said: Where would I find this parameter? In the config section of the .ini file. The last sound is #60, but we start at 0, so there are 61 in total.
