June 22, 20178 yr Will the FSX TDv2 version install into p3dv4? If I could buy the P3d version I would. Matt Wilson
June 22, 20178 yr The FSX version may give you problems with window glass not being transparent. (I think) Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700F CPU @ 2.90GHz (8 cores) Hyper on, Evga RTX 3060 12 Gig, 32 GB ram, Windows 11, P3D v6, and MSFS 2020 and a couple of SSD's

The RealAir Legacy V2 and Turbine Duke V2 are installed outside P3D: 1) I created 2 new folders in Libraries\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons: Legacy V2 P3D3 and Turbine Duke V2 P3D3 2) 2 Text Documents were created and one of each placed in the folders created at step 1) 3) Each Text Document was renamed to add-on.xml 4) I created and saved the following text in the newly created add-on.xml file residing in the Legacy V2 P3D3 folder: <SimBase.Document Type="AddOnXml" version="4,0" id="add-on"> <AddOn.Name>RealAir</AddOn.Name> <AddOn.Description>RealAir Legacy V2.</AddOn.Description> <AddOn.Component> <Category>Effects</Category> <Path>D:\RealAir\Legacy V2 P3D3\Effects</Path> </AddOn.Component> <AddOn.Component> <Category>SimObjects</Category> <Path>D:\RealAir\Legacy V2 P3D3\SimObjects\Airplanes</Path> </AddOn.Component> </SimBase.Document> 5) I created and saved the following text in the newly created add-on.xml file residing in the Turbine Duke V2 P3D3 folder: <SimBase.Document Type="AddOnXml" version="4,0" id="add-on"> <AddOn.Name>RealAir</AddOn.Name> <AddOn.Description>RealAir Duke Turbine V2.</AddOn.Description> <AddOn.Component> <Category>Effects</Category> <Path>D:\RealAir\Turbine Duke V2 P3D3\Effects</Path> </AddOn.Component> <AddOn.Component> <Category>SimObjects</Category> <Path>D:\RealAir\Turbine Duke V2 P3D3\SimObjects\Airplanes</Path> </AddOn.Component> </SimBase.Document> 6) I ran P3D V4 and each of the 2 'RealAir' addons was added during the initial loading phase of the sim. 7) Both RealAir aircraft were loaded and checked for proper operation (cockpit sounds excepted). 8) I exited the sim and checked that the appropriate entry had been entered automatically in ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3Dv4\add-ons.cfg: [Package.1] PATH=D:\RealAir\Turbine Duke V2 P3D3\SimObjects\Airplanes ACTIVE=true REQUIRED=false For some reason there was not a separate entry for the Legacy V2 P3D3. Maybe this has something to do with the fact that they are both 'RealAir' products installed under the common 'RealAir' folder. So, in the end it was all really very straightforward while, at the same time, preserving my original installations and without any need for copying the RealAir Installation over to Libraries\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons, as some others have done. Mike Hi: Couple of questions please: Can you please clarify step 2 & 3? -When/how were the text documents created? And when are they placed in folders at step 1? -When was each text document renamed? Did you rename them? Thanks! I just don't want to screw any of this up. A. June 28, 20178 yr OK, I'll put the direct link in this thread too... www.douglassdawson.ca/files/dsd_p3d_xml_sound_x64_gauge_only.zip I would only ask that if you distribute the file, you do not include the letters 'fsx' in the name and that you not remove the letters '_x64' from the name. I don't want anyone getting the idea that this version of the gauge will work in previous versions of FS - it's 64 bit and so of course it will not. It probably won't work in FSW either.

If you can provide a little information I can help you with this. Have a look at the panel.cfg file and let me know what the entry for the old sound gauge is. Also, I will need to know where the .ini file resides (again, probably in the panel folder.) Sorry, I don't have any of these products myself, so I can't give you a definitive answer without knowing how the gauge was originally installed and configured. Doug

Doug The file name to replace is: RASDukeTv2_Sound.gau The panel.cfg shows: gauge21=RASDukeTv2_Sound!Sound, 1,1,2,2,./SimObjects/Airplanes/RealAir Duke Turbine V2/Panel/Sound/RASDukeTv2_Sound.ini Many thanks for this Doug. May I also ask, I and I suspect many others use the now unsupported Baytower Vans RV7 which I believe also includes some of your work: btsENG.dll which according to the details was originally named: dsd_wastegate_control.dll with your name as the signer and author. Do you have any plans to update that dll also to X64 at all? Warm regards
