iFly 737NG for P3Dv4 Released

Featured Replies

I am on a flight between KSFO (FlightBeam) and KIAH (FSDreamTeam) with all that ORBX has released and the IFly737-900er United.  Wow.   Great and smooth.  I also own PMDG (All of them) and I don't want to get into a comparison between them but P3Dv4 is unbelievable!   IFly was smart to get theirs out first.  I am sure sales at Flight1 are good.  Lower cost no-OOMs what else do yo want.

Calm down Peter.  The way I see it is I can buy the ifly and try it.  If I'm not satisfied I can return it within 30 days.  Then if money allows down the road I can purchase the NGX.  Not really hurting me at all is it?

I am calm. I was not the one having a cry about PMDG's P3D sales policy.

Very true.  I'm taking my toy 737 and going home.

Alan, I am kinda keen to pick this up. Couple questions if you don't mind.

1. How is the geometry of the virtual cockpit compared to the PMDG NGX. I know many have said that the cockpit windows of the PMDG one are too big. Does iFly have it more accurate?

2. Flight dynamics? On par with PMDG, is she a joy to hand fly? Autopilot with LNAV/VNAV accurate?

3. Accurate fuel burns? Would like to get this for the 900ER but if the fuel burn is say the same as the PMDG standard 900 model then it's not worth it to me.

4. Is the FMC on part with the functionality of the PMDG one?

Thank you

Chock summed it up pretty well. But, I really dislike the Cockpit window geometery in the PMDG 737. Ifly one is more realistic, like the iXeg 737 for X-Plane.

I wish PMDG had an option to install a non HUD equipped cockpit so the planes geometry was realistic.Even though you can disable it, as you know, the geometery stays the same.

Excellent news. Thanks Steve.

I almost pulled the trigger on the IFly 747 last year waiting for PMDG to release theirs. But after testing out XP11 I completely switched over until this new P3Dv4 was released. Now I'm thinking about getting this 737 from IFly and possibly the 747 when they release it. I have nothing against PMDG or their pricing, I believe in supporting the little guy also if they produce a well designed, authentic and good looking product, which I have been convinced previously that IFly has done.

Thanks Chock and the others on your thoughts on this IFly release. I will make a purchase decision in a few days for sure.

Cheers and happy flights!

Eddie

Well,I've been wanting a 900ER real bad as the PMDG 900 standard model just doesn't have the fuel range. Could that with a more realistic VC geometry and I think I'm gonna get it. If I get it for P3D v3, is the upgrade to v4 free?

The v4 is already out and you can purchase it now.  If you already own the v3 version, the v4 version is a free upgrade.

Anybody know whether iFly's 747-400 will be made P3Dv4 compatible.

I forgot to mention:

The  iFly 747-8i will be a free service pack for the 747-400 when it is released.  That's an amazing deal if you ask me.

This one is just killing me, I love PMDG, but I can't help myself, I can't even watch youtube videos with PMDG737 because the windshield is distorted. Ifly737 windshield geometry looks much much better.

Fun with Air Hauler 2 and the iFly 737..

Nice will probably pick this up instead of the NGX.  Can't justify the price of the NGX and expansions.  Already bought it once. Not doing it again.

By the time they release the NGX I'm sure you would of had plenty of time to save up for it!! 😄
