Anyone notice the narrow range of focus..?

Looks great on a photo, but how does that work when looking at the instruments in flight?

Most games have a photo-/screenshot-mode nowadays. You can add shaders and photograpic effects, including DOF, before taking the screenshot.

You can also see in the trailer that it doesn't have those focus effects when looking at the panel.

Yet one more time an ASxxx registration..

Does ASOBO do more than the aircraft?

Where is Microsoft in all this..

AS-MGSXX...

MGS = Microsoft Game Studios. 😉

I know it’s not that important in a Serious Simulator, for Serious People - but a proper photo mode with a good range of adjustments would be really nice to have in this sort of game. Seems to be a common feature in games that know they are pretty these days.

I don't think you need to worry about that in the sim Bert, more than likely it's just for the screenshot. It doesn't take away from the fact the modelling and texture work is of very high quality.

Agreed

If you do a google image search of the screenshot it takes you to a list of real photographs taken in a similar, shallow depth of focus way.

Serious simmers do not mind added features for screen shot takers, or added tutorials for beginners, as long as the realism and realistic features are there for us too. We want everybody to be happy as long as it is not at our expense.

DCS has this depth of field mode as an option too. Great for screenshots.

The best one I’ve used was in a ps4 game - horizon zero dawn. It essentially gave you a pretty well specced slr camera to play around with. That game was an hdr masterclass too so I spent hours snapping the scenery.

Yeah I found the below image but not much else... But Microsoft have stated here’s a work-in-progress screenshot - thats a bit of a give away folks!

ps the below screenshot is from a google image search as Superdelphinus has pointed out and not MSFS 2020 fsi website!

I believe Microsoft is going all in on this one, making sure it is the best option for civilians flight sims! I think the fact that it can finally run in some sort or another on a console is helping. IMO, we might have the XBOX to thank for the fact this sim is a reality.

Microsoft don't read AVSIM or any other forums, they read their own gaming forums and insiders community forums, it is standard company policy.
