LOL😁 - Wow it didn't take you long to find an actual gif that says it all. Seriously though, it would be an amazing thing to see. August 9, 20196 yr It is quite hard to find a place with no Bing descent satellite coverage. The only downside is colors are not matching very well in most of remote areas, so is definition. But for these 2 problems, I think AI can do the magic. If AI is used for that. So it would be helpful to know how AI will be enhancing the sim indeed!

For any area other than flat terrain like Kansas, you also need height data to build a terrain mesh. Geographic height data can be hit or miss in remote areas, depending on whose database you're using. For example, type "Angel Falls" (the world's tallest waterfall, in Venezuela) into both Google Maps and Bing, switch to satellite view, and compare the results. Google Maps has higher resolution, and also at least a little height data on the mesa, which you can see by scrolling around. It's not very good though, because if you look at it in Google Earth where you can tilt the view, it falls apart if you get to a lower view angle. Maybe MS has better data than this for the new MSFS, but it will still be a challenge to pull off remote scenery that looks as good as the showcase areas in the trailer where there is far more available height data, along with photogrammetry-based surface imaging for buildings. To me the new scenery techniques being teased are the killer feature here.
August 9, 20196 yr The height data is much better in Google Earth than in Bing maps for sure (look at the Machu Picchu for example) as well as photogrametry coverage. Google as all Europe (West and East) covered with photogrametry. Maybe they can trade some data? We already go off topic 😄
August 9, 20196 yr I'd love to see how Azure creates a supercell in real time. Baber My Youtube Channel http://www.youtube.com/user/HDOnlive
August 10, 20196 yr More info on their plans about FSX of course!!! PLEASEEE MS, center your next update on FSX only!!!!! We're all dying to know more, don't you see??? "Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people".

August 10, 20196 yr If there is going to be any media, I would like to see how essentially barren areas/airports, i.e. Alert Canada or St. Helena, are going to be depicted/developed. If they are looking realistic and alive (living world) then we should have no worries for any areas.
August 10, 20196 yr I actually like the path that MS has taken on information and game release updates. This is an extremely smart approach. The only thing we can really do is sit back and watch it unfold. I would imagine this will be as close as we come to real flight. Waiting and watching patiently.
August 10, 20196 yr Some actual videos of real "in game" or "in sim" play along with just a few snippets of what features we are likely to expect. I agree with others in that Microsoft have got this pretty much spot on in releasing snippets of info that just keep me wanting more! Specs: 11900K (5ghz), 64GB ram 3600mhz, RTX 3080 ti
August 10, 20196 yr I'd like to see it actually be an improved flight simulator, i.e. more accurate simulation of flying, this is after all the point of a flight simulator. Yes improved visuals would be nice, but quite frankly I'd prefer something which looked like FS98 if it was an accurate simulation of aerodynamics, rather than a pretty picture with mediocre treatment of the nuances of flight. August 10, 20196 yr I believe all these MS updates = MS hype: But I sure have will have my wallet open if "2020" truly lives-up to the hype...
