AIG Traffic and lack of GA traffic

Featured Replies

I am using AIG AI TRaffic in P3D V4.5 and I am loving it.

However, as I have switched off the normal traffic.blg (don't want to see standard P3D traffic), I have no GA traffic.

I'd love to see some Piper, Cessna and other planes on the smaller airports around the globe.

Any advice what to do?

There's always the HTAI Cessna singles payware package which is awesome and adds thousands of small Cessna singles around the globe. The models originally designed for FS9 have been converted to P3d v4 and are included in the freeware ORBX FTX AI traffic pack. For bizjets you can use the Ultimate GA group releases which included many hundreds of various Gulfstream II, III, IV, Challenger 600-605's, Global Express, etc all models have also been converted to p3d v4 and are available at AIG.

The GA included with UTL, TG or even MyT6 etc is like stepping back 18 years in time in how the models look. 🤮

Thanks Dave, I hadn’t seen that pack before.  So basically if I were to buy this i just need to copy over the p3d compatible models from the orbx freeware to make it work in P3D?

But then HTAI Cessna ai traffic is based on FS9 and its traffic files would not work with P3D even when the models are converted.

Is this available from the One Click Installer?

It's a bit more work but you can convert the flightplans using AIFP

All you then have to do is convert the FS9 traffic file to FSX/P3d format. AIFP will do it for you and only takes a couple of seconds. Same thing with the old Ultimate GA packages. It's a tiny bit of work, for a massive return on your end. The traffic file is copywritten otherwise I'd offer to convert it for you, but it really is very easy.

I am flying only GA aircraft now after decades of flying tubeliners. I dumped My Traffic 6 because of poor GA flights. Got UT Live, and I am now a happy camper with GA aircraft all around me. Installed it, and voila, GA flights, no work required.

It's fantastic that you are happy with it, as I'm sure many users are. I only mentioned it above because I think it's important for others to know that the GA models in UTL are pretty hideous compared to what you could have for just a little bit of effort. It's all just a matter of choice,  I wouldn't want to fugly up my sim after all of the hard work that I have done to make it look good.

As for the ORBX NA AI traffic, it is also good, but only covers the FTX regions of NA (not including SAK, so really only the West Coast) and the some of the models aren't as numerous or up to date as what is included in the newer FTX AU AI package.

Please help me out. If I buy the pack, how do I generate GA traffic with them?

Thanks Dave. I've done the traffic file conversion, easy as you said.. But can I directly use the HTAI models if they were developed for FS9?

You could try this.

I did and it's working great along with AIG.

I tried it, but actually there is perhaps 3 or 4 different models (Maule, Mooney, Piper) and that's it...

There is a freeware tool, FSX GA Traffic, that creates a .bgl with GA AI traffic. It scans and uses any models already installed, albeit up to a certain MTOW. Tons of other parameters, but works fine with default settings. No problems running under V4, just make sure you don't have any MDL8 models (you can use AIFP to find those).
