September 26th Update - Feature Discovery Series Preview: World

Are we getting previews of other aspects of the sim, as noted in the preview schedule?   I thought they might cover all 4 aspects?

I was expecting previews of the four modules too, as announced.

Slewing over spectacular overviews of the Earth is nice indeed.  It can make a great documentary for the National Geographic but it is a little short for showing what the new sim could be.

And their mp4 delivery is still awful, at my end at least, after almost three months. Could my Azure server be in a backward antipode ?

All things come in time to those who can wait, I suppose.

Apologies if I missed it, but what do they mean by et tu Connor? If it’s a Shakespearean reference then someone close to them called Connor has double-crossed them in some way, or has joined a group against them - anyone know what that’s all about? If it’s just a literal translation then I’m even more lost.

who is Connor?!

Maybe a reference to Terminator : "Are you Sarah Connor" but said and misspelled in french, it would have been : Es tu Connor

That's the only explanation I got

Edited by Noooch

Exactly. No one sensible would suggest constructive feedback isn’t useful.

Maybe "Connor" refers to "Connor MacLeod"........there can be only one (flight simulator)?

Just a thought,  and I may be out In left field. It would be nice if we had the ability to locally store a specific region we consistently fly in. State, or country. Or city radius of 200 miles?

Anyone knows what “Feedback Pipeline overview deliverable” is?

Yeah seriously, that's a bollocksy management speak mouthful

Excited enough about this manna from Microsoft to rejoin the ranks of the infirm and bewildered at Avsim:)

But trying to temper my excitement with the bitter memories of 2 really promising simulators’ early death (Flight, FSW). Eye-candy wise it seems to be doing everything right (despite volumetric cloud dithering which is certainly there but being misread by some as pop-in), but some evidence of seasons would be really welcome at this point.

So, is it finally ok to put the past behind us and believe we have a stable, next-gen platform with MS’s full commitment coming...?

Download the video, loop it at 0:30 until about 0:35... look closely you will see the popping, over the ocean.

If I have to look that hard to see it then it's not a big deal. Also the draw distance on the clouds is perfectly fine. Maybe you should go enjoy the clouds in X-PLANE

That's what Microsoft themselves have intimated.

I think the next episode will tell us something about it.

I wonder what they mean by that? 🤔

I was wondering about that too.

No idea, but it looks like Microsoft have recently employed someone with a "deliverable" fetish.

Irrational fears aren’t useless either, better early than sorry😉
