I was just thinking back to when I first played Flight Simulator 5 with its VGA graphics, and sound blaster sound, and how amazing that was compared to previous versions. Seeing these trailers blow that feeling out of the water!

the same euphoria as in 1982, I couldn't wait to fire up Flightsimulator for the first time, i still love this feeling 😁

I remember version 1 as well, though I played it further on in 1985-1986.

I also was thinking about Flight Sim 4 and the introduction there of the Boeing 747. My how things have changed since then.

OK, thanks, didn't know that...

Textron Inc. is an American industrial conglomerate based in Providence, Rhode Island. Textron's subsidiaries include Arctic Cat, Bell Helicopter, Textron Aviation (which itself includes the Beechcraft, Hawker and Cessna brands), and Lycoming Engines. It was founded by Royal Little in 1923 as the Special Yarns Company.

How the heck a YARN company wound up a near aviation monopoly is a mystery.
