December 17, 20196 yr What is it with Captain Sim and VNAV altitude restrictions? This latest version still blows through them like a drunk running a red traffic light. Petraeus

December 17, 20196 yr Is this a worthy add-on? Does it have full FMC DP/STAR capable with Navigraph and LNAV/VNAV? Do you fly hoping not to have a CTD because it's buggy? Handling realistic in air and on ground? Hard in framerates? Eric
December 17, 20196 yr The FMC works fairly well, compatible with navigraph and has sids/stars, though has some issues with VNAV and speed restrictions as mentioned. In reality I’ve heard this is a slippery plane to fly and you will use speed brake. The plane is stable and I’ve not had any major crashes. But performance is where the issues lie, both flight characteristics and the FPS kind. I’ve had to modify the .air file and the aircraft configuration. The handling at landing by default is terrible. Very floaty and unstable like you can’t point it in the right direction. The .air file was from captain sim and the config file was from a user. The other issue was the trim settings for takeoff were not correct at all. Both from the manual and calculated from fms values caused the plane to go nose down on takeoff. FPS is steady but very low. I struggle in more complex airports. Captain sim support says there’s nothing they can do about it. If I had a system that handle this plane well I would recommend it. It’s a much better attempt than some of their past products. It’s no PMDG or FSLabs though.
December 17, 20196 yr I wish quality wings would update the 757 to the quality of their 787 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next
December 17, 20196 yr Based on the list of fixes and improvements in Jim's opening post, I am assuming that the calculated take off trim problems have still not been addressed? Okay, the FMC set-up, etc, etc is fair to middling. But, she races away like a galloping horse when taxiing out even with the throttle down to hardly any thrust. Then, on a climb out with A/T on, AP on, flaps up, flaps in, she all of a sudden goes ballistic and then goes into a nose pitched almost vertical attitude, then spins into uncontrollable spin. What a sheer waste of sim time! My opinion only, but I'll boot her back into the Hangar! There are far, far better and immersive aircraft in my Hangar. Rick Almeida
