New P3D v5 trailer

And I would like not to bother with the settings, but just to fly. The P3D setup turned into a hard workout before departure.

The fact remains that the trailer is singularly unimpressive. Clearly, LM are going after simmers' pockets before these pockets are empty because MSFS2020.

Anything wrong in willing to cash in on one's hard work ?

Honestly, the ignorance and lack of insight shown by a handful of posts is staggering. Yet the statements are always posted as fact.

You might say that it is because  LM has been very secretive about what they were doing and the trailer is rather bad. But MS has been very open for the FS20 development with very good  EP vids and we also see tons of ignorance and lack of insight and speculations posted as fact 😄. So the only explanation I can offer is : boys will be boys.

Well, since you put it that way, how could I possibly object.

There is no shadow from the clouds, but light stuttering in the cockpit in place.

I only saw stuttering in the panning.

You have to remember that he is moving at reasonably high speed in that F16, over what is probably one of the most detailed areas available in P3D (ORBx TrueEarth GB South London). Very light stutters now and again are (in my opinion) to be expected, even on Rob's super computer

Yeah pretty impressive that Rob gets 100% FPS improvement over London.

Btw fast panning will always show stuttering at 30fps. 30fps is just not enough to allow fast movement to appear fluid in anything including any game, film or TV. Hopefully this means I can get much higher when away from London.

Folks,

  • It is important to clarify a couple of things, you need to see the video description on YouTube as Rob always put very important information there.

  • The first Video Rob made available with the F35, was a super early Beta version, in fact it was one of the "first" builds (he said it when he posted it, don't ignore such important information). At that time Cloud shadows were not implemented yet.

  • This second video is a newer Beta build version where Cloud shadows are having an issue, things happens on each build.. we always found something with each build and had to report back to LM. It is the difficulty when you change the render engine to something new as DX12. cloud shadows were working fine on the previous build to the one we currently have and LM engineers are aware and of course this bug will be fixed before the release version.

  • On the second video, Rob is using FPS locked at 30FPS.. so depending on your computer settings you could actually get more than that with ORBX TE GB South.. something imposible with V4.

So to be clear, P3D V5 has cloud shadows

Be safe,

On my rig, I see micro-stutters all along the flight. very light, not really annoying but the flight  is not smoothie smooth..

Why ?  I thought v5 would get us rid of those.  If you say that the computer is top end, I don't want to even think what it would be on my old jalopy. Or what it would be with a demanding aircraft à la FSL and several layers of clouds and AI traffic

Wishful thinking. There will be always the hardware limits, even with DX12, Vulkan etc. You will get stutters also in MSFS2020, trust me.

we will see I have a 9990XE and a 2080ti really interested to see what I get over GB south with FSL a320.  but even if it's only 50% increase I have steady 30 fps with very high settings.

can't wait to get my hands on 🙂
