I seriously look forward to coming to this forum every day.  But lately, I come to this forum hoping to see IF Lockheed Martin has released a new Hotfix for P3dV5!  Can't wait.  Today, I flew an Swiss Airbus 220 from Shannon to Liverpool.  Took off from Liverpool enroute to Bern, Switzerland, to get my plane back to its Country.  There I was, sitting by my computer, simultaneously watching TV, having a Stella Artois and a few German hard pretzels.  It was fun and very enjoyable up until about 200 miles from Bern when I heard that sound interruption that signaled the sim was going to CTD.  Sure enough, it did.   About 1 in every 4 of my long flights ends this way.  Up until then, things run rather smoothly with a few bumps along the way albeit some pauses and occasional deep drops in FPS (which usually recover).  

I've tried a lot of things with changing my settings variables every which way possible, changing my frame settings both in and out of the sim, using FFTF and not using FFTF, etc., etc.

There's a rumor the LM will fix the majority of CTD episodes with their next Hotfix, but we'll see.

I guess I'm just a little frustrated after several hours of simulation that ended with a big "implosion"!

Agree- I've taken a break from fsim whilst this is sorted out as I don't have time to beta test. The initial wow of v5 has worn off for me because the beta atmospherics look so great but need  5.1 to be of any real use. I can't go back to v4 type wx as it just doesn't look as good 

Take a faster airplane!

 

(It's a joke, this CTD story is very long and annoying, P3d is crashing since the first version came out, and we are struggling and paying for it).

Let us take a look at your system and clock settings.

I came to this conclusion one week after release and have been happily flying 4.5 ever since.

Regarding the actual release, some call it Hotfix2 :>), I will revist along with a bunch of others and see what the deal is.

Exact, the developers of his missing aircraft are all waiting for LM to release its patch. LM is blocking all future releases.

But don’t you know? The hotfix is “right around the corner”!!!

And has been for a week now. Quite some corner, eh? 😉

Oh, I just came here to see if it got released.  Oh well back to work (these days I am getting zero sim time as my work is back on; work is awesome - so can't complain)

Waiting patiently for the next update so that I can fly all expensive plane addons

I have not had 1 issue with Prepar3d v5.

Not used 4.5 for a month now soon to be removed.

Not exactly true for me, but I think I've only seen one or two CTD's since released in April and those have been my own fault. Overall the sim is very stable even with the known issues. I complete daily flights over two hours with no issues. Still, I wonder why so many are having troubles.

Anyway, yea, bring us HF2!

I too got p3dv5 installed finally with only installing V5 3rd party content however on the first inaugural flight I got the dreaded SIM crash. Albeit not a CTD but rather a freeze. It appeared to occur I’m guessing as the destination airport scenery got loaded at orbx KSBA. Never happened with 4.5.

Will try again tonight.
