Still worried about the flight model ... how planes move

Recommended Posts

I think that those who are dissing the default planes without actually flying them are ignoring the fact that Asobo spent years working with the actual aircraft manufacturers, who presumably know how their planes should fly. Will every plane be perfect? Of course not.  But the new blade element style physics will ensure that we get a lot more realistic aerodynamics than exist in P3D.

You’d think....but....well, we’ll all get to see on release.

Well, I have seen a few vessels in fluid and a few airplanes in the air and none of them wagged their tail like it was in heat trying to attract a mate. I noticed that trait in several of the "official" clips. That is the sort of thing some are talking about. Chock make a valid point. Why would the Dev's not use those "secret" tricks that are going to be available to 3rd Party Dev's?

Plenty of planes "wag their tail" in real life. That's what a yaw damper is for.

But yes, the flight model needs work.

There is a big difference between watching a video and actually controlling the aircraft.

Here's a dumb question... do the control surfaces (animation) work on any of these birds?

People are so dramatic in this community, it hasn't been released and there are threads who are already worried or disappointed 😥. Wait until its release and then we can talk again.

And others will be disappointed for not being disappointed 😄

Nope. They're all completely static. They will be that way forever too. 🙄

The airliners need more wing flex on landing. It's too subtle right now.

Yep....wing flex, THAT’s the thing that needs to be fixed first

How long does it take for 'smug' to wear off after buying an EV?

Well the first thing that needs to be fixed is the massive ego of elitist flight simmers. But since that's never going to happen, I'll settle for better wing flex.

PMDG seems very upbeat, so I think there's little to worry about for those that will purchase 3rd party add-ons.

Maybe the flight models of the default aircraft can be tweaked somehow? .Ini files like in FSX/P3D.

Be nice if the Market Place allows all sorts of content, including custom content based on default aircraft, so new flight model tweaks etc.

Nah, you want this if you want flight-related dating, and yes, this really is a game (on Steam):
