August 10, 20205 yr 1 hour ago, CaribbeanCLANK said: All these 3rd party announcements has made me very indecisive. At first I thought the Deluxe version was a no-brainer but now I think the standard version might be better. This assumes that any and all TPDs would in no way be dependent on features which are part of the included elements of the super-duper versions of the sim. To elaborate, let's look at two aeroplanes which are in the Super-Sexy Deluxe version, but not in the other versions - the Boeing 787 and the Cirrus SR22. The 787's controls are based on those of the Triple Seven, the SR22 has a ballistic recovery system. Now the fine points, or even the basic function of these systems, might not currently be included in the sim incarnations of these aeroplanes, but there is always the possibility of this being added even if it is not currently the case. So let's say a TPD wants to make a Symphony SA-160. Well that has a ballistic recovery system, so an included default aeroplane which had that feature would be an obvious avenue to go down in creating another aeroplane with such a system. Or if they wanted to make a Triple Seven, then the 787's control system would presumably be a good starting point for that and it might even use default sim gauges found only in the 787 and the 777. There are plenty of TPD aeroplanes for FSX, P3D and XPlane which use this method of creation, by utilising the gauges or whatever which are part of default aeroplanes. So we may find, down the line, that a TPD aeroplane might require one to upgrade a standard version in order to make that add-on work. This occurred in FSX, where the Acceleration expansion's fancier engine modeling was necessary to make A2A's stuff work in the sim. August 10, 20205 yr Deluxe Premium on Steam. Mainly because of the following handcrafted airports: KSFO, KDEN, KORD, EGLL, OMDB, EDDF ... in addition to the extra planes to play with while PMDG, FSLABS and A2A do not arrive. I know that 3rd party will have better versions, but until then ... And I've been waiting for this simulator for many years. So I decided to support it as much as possible. August 10, 20205 yr I ordered Premium Deluxe, but there were so many Window Store errors I had to cancel it. Will eventually get Premium Deluxe, but going to wait to until after release to decide where to buy it. A lot of speculation as to the differences between the Store and Steam, so I will wait until there is better information on the two options.
August 10, 20205 yr Having little use for the large airports of the two premium packages and being content with the choice of standard aicraft, I should go to the standard version. Except if the 787 were significantly better than the 320 and 748. MS or Steam, will see but looking at the way MS operates its servers including the shop , Steam looks more and more as an attractive solution, That is to say when I find a working solution to my bandwith problem😄. August 10, 20205 yr Premium Deluxe via Steam. Same cost as an hour of IRL flying or a non fancy dinner with the family. And like others said - even if it has problems initially this is the first major flight sim in ages. I want MS management to see that it was a good decision to revlitalize it with good sales initially. They don't read forums but look at the bottom line... But to be honest, what we (20-50k active old FS junkies) do will not matter much... What really is needed is good reviews in mainstream media / sites so that people that have never flown a simulator buys it. So we need 8+ reviews in Gamespot, IGN, PC Gamer etc. And they will buy joysticks and peripherals so that we don't have to buy our gear from small enthusiasts in Belarus or Russia (Virpil and VKB) to get good stuff. Ryzen 9800X3D | Gigabyte X670 Aorus Elite AX MB | 64GB 6000Mhz DDR5 | RTX 5080 GPU | Windows 11 Pro x64 | Virpil T-50 Throttle | T50 CM2 Grip + WarBRD | VKB T-rudder MK IV | Asus PG279Q 1440p | Pimax Crystal Light VR | Samsung 980 Pro as system disk and Samsung 990 Pro M2 SSD for games
