August 16, 20205 yr I have been out of the Sim game for at least three years. 2020 just may pull me back in. I have been following FS 2020 for at least a year now. Yes I can see some flaws (such as the bridges being so funky on the default city scenery) but it looks to me that there are so so so many good features that come early Winter, I will be building a new computer. I truly hope this is a big success ... and for all of our sakes that MS makes lots of money so that this thing can keep going and get fixed in a reasonable time.

Just saying that P3D doesn't even come with 1 airliner. You're set back 300USD for just the sim and a 737. And you STILL don't get live weather. I can't see how we can bash the Asobo attempt with this context. If they can iron out basic LNAV and VNAV, a basic hold and FMC editing than I'd say mission accomplished. P3Dv4 + XP11 MFS

What small disappointments are vitiated by the huge structural changes to this sim particularly of course the Bing incorporation. Precisely. You nailed it. I am one of the old Sublogic guys and never thought I would live to see this. At this point I don't CARE if some monument in Baghdad is missing or if my house is the wrong color (I know for sure it will be in the right place). This is a revolution that will impact flight simming and eventually a lot more.

Suncoast - much as I would like to defend Prepar3d's honor here- to clarify both Larry and I were joking, so please don't take my comment about MSFS to heart. I won't have first-hand experience with the Asobo jets for another few hours yet. From what I've seen, they should be fun to fly. I have only moderate expectations, and over time they'll either get better or I'll replace them with payware. "Um... you think *this* is bad, you ain't seen nuthin' yet." Hook Yeah the PMDG support forums used to be here: “um... the plane breaks too often and costs too much” ”well that’s because you’re doing it wrong. Sign your full name.” ”my user name is my full name” ”not an acceptable answer, also you suck at flying, sign your name.” ”but I paid $100 four separate times for this airplane, and the autopilot doesn’t do what I want it to” ”look you obviously don’t know the first thing about real aircraft, and SIGN YOUR FULL NAME! THAT’S HOW WE MAKE SURE IT STAYS SO FRIENDLY HERE!!!!” (357 other Avsim users) “yeah! You leave PMDG alone! I just named my firstborn Randazzo! Noob.” (me, via pm) “look, it’s in the manual, but no big deal, you just need to make sure both flight directors are turned on.” ”oh yeah, that works, thanks!” (to PMDG fans: I’m one of you. This is obviously an exaggeration made for humorous effect, but I swear it is how it looks to me. Also how is baby Randazzo doing?)
August 16, 20205 yr Some concern here over what will be happening on this forum post release. Personally, I’m not going to be on the forum tomorrow. I’m going to be flying. 🙂

August 16, 20205 yr Been flight simming since FS98. I haven't watched many YouTube videos since I want to be surprised, and will be perfectly satisfied as long as the satellite imagery looks decent, the frame rates are at least 30 with no stuttering, and there are zero crash-to-desktops. Do you actually fly Prepar3d v5, or is this just something you read on the internet? Tell me, other than be a cheerleader, what actual contributions have you made towards P3D, or any other simulator? I created a freeware download with 20K+ downloads...what have you done? How many hours/contributions have you made to the community? I bet the answer in none.... August 17, 20205 yr I'm expecting a good new starting platform in the context of many mature content providers. I'm expecting a different look and feel compared to P3Dv4.5. The proof is in the flying: after spending enough hours to have it basically figured out will you go back the next day looking forward to doing it again, or will the thought cross my mind to go back to the old familiar w/ all of its full features, advanced payware aircraft, GSXII, ASN4 & of course, FSCaptain. Quite frankly I have no expectations about which it will be. Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync. There's been more than one occasion on the old Avsim PMDG forum where people were like that to someone asking a simple question (including PMDG staff) and nobody answering the question, whereupon I answered it, then people started laying into me. And if you then dared to say anything about the attitude of members of the holy PMDG worshippers club having been unhelpful, it was like you'd just threatened to go and drown a bag of kittens, desecrate a church, then beat up a pensioner.
