FS-2020 blurry?

Featured Replies

If the scenery does turn out to be a bit blurry, I'm willing to accept that as a tradeoff for the 600KM cloud draw distance 😛

Seeing distant weather systems is definitely a big yes!

In XP and P3D, terrain detail at high altitudes is typically extremely sharp.

'Typically', it is or it isn't. Never heard anybody complain that the terrain is to sharp. If anything the terrain is not sharp enough in xp, at least not on the horizon anyways. The last picture should be really sharp. Try using a faster shutter speed next time.

The blurries and popping in/out of textures is present in every video I’ve seen thus far. It sucks but there’s probably a reason it’s still around.

And the autogen.

Maybe just clean your monitor?

i think on the higher settings , it looks very natural to me, but then i live in  a country where you almost never ever see

a very clear horizon. and ofcourse there are calculation limits.

+ some ppl's expectations are not very realistic.

Yeah, now as you told us, it really looks crappy like the good old FS2004. 🙄

Dscheesus...!

The MFS shots look more natural, as they take seem to take atmospheric conditions into account. The ground from FL300 is not that weirdly crisp and sharp like portrayed in some of our current sims. Obviously there's also some reduced streaming resolution based on distance, which is probably also what we're seeing but I still think the end result looks better. Not sure how much depth of field is applied in some of those shots but could also be a factor.

It looks much better than both fs9 and xplane 11....

Ah well... speaking about airliners I rarely spend time staring out of the window on cruise altitude. Maybe some short scenic views, but I am more interested by the looks on approach or takeoff. So I can live with a bit blurriness on cruise as long as it looks great when it matters most.

Happy with MSFS 🙂

Something must be wrong with my eyes.  The only blurriness I see is in the bottom pictures.  Yes, I'm serious. I'm also 70 years old and post-cataract surgery.

Well you have the luxury that you can choose and discard what you like of the simulator whether it is XP, P3D, FSX, FS9 and now MSF. Even so, I care very little if it gets a little blurry on either the FL200 or FL400. Agree as mentioned here, just that it looks fine during take-off and during landing with nice flow, so I am happy and of course that the sim does not crash (OOM) during flight which was commonplace in FSX where you had to constantly adjust in the fsx.cfg file.

I copied the pics to my desktop, then opened them in a viewer and looked at them full screen, the same as I'd see in in the sim.  My desktop is 1920x1080.  I can't see any higher resolution than that, unlike when I was 20, for example. 🙂
