September 4, 20205 yr I bought the standard edition of the simulator and am wanting to try out the SR22, but I'm not sure if the extra $85 to upgrade is worth it. I'm not really interested in any of the other airports or aircraft included with the upgrade. Should I go ahead and get the update? Or are there any third party developers working on this plane?

Don't get it for the SR22 alone. It's still incomplete in some aspects and the avionics aren't 100% accurate (it's more like a slightly changed G1000). So no, it's definitely not worth 85$. If you like some of the other airplanes and airports, it might be worth it.
September 4, 20205 yr The SR22 is one of the weaker aircraft in the sim. Not at all realistic. If you are after a good SR22 in a home-simulation environment try the X-Aviation version for X-Plane.

OP don't buy anything for xplane less you just want to toss money out the window. September 4, 20205 yr Author I'm committed to MSFS now but that X Aviation version looks pretty good. Are any developers planning on upgrading the stock SR22 or offering their own version for MSFS?

The knocks against X-Plane from the uninformed are getting a little tiring (I don't care what forum this is). I'm having an amazing time with MSFS and believe it has a very bright future; but at this moment, there are a lot of things that X-Plane does better than MSFS... and I mean MUCH better! I'm sure I'll be using both for many years to come. If the OP wants a good SR22, right now the best SR22 is in X-Plane.

It is your opinion that XPlane is going to die and the reason is, MSFS 2020 will in 10 years be the New Flight Sim?? It is already the new Flight Sim and, as far as I know there is not another sim in the offing. It is not however, any sort of legitimate reason to abandon any flight sim platform at all. Just like MSFS, XPlane and P3D have their own individual strengths and weaknesses. Being new or old does not change that simple fact. For the OP, precedence has shown that very rarely do default aircraft receive a great deal of upgraded attention, in any platform. I certainly back advice which tells you not to spend the extra 85 dollars just for this aircraft. As others have said it is certainly not the very best of aircraft for MSFS. I do not know of any Cirrus SR22 development for P3D and I have not got that aircraft for XPlane11. X-Aviation, though has a fairly good reputation, as far as I know. If you already have that sim, the aircraft is very much cheaper that the 85 dollar upgrade which will not achieve much for you anyway. As Ryan has said, may of us use multiple platforms, for various reasons. MSFS is not, now, nor may it ever be, a valid reason to abandon a sim platform that you currently enjoy. "dont't buy anything for xplane less you just want to toss money out the window" is simply, bad advice. Tony Tony Chilcott. My System. Motherboard. September 5, 20205 yr Moderator Unfortunately, the Eaglesoft SR22 series remains stuck in 32bit land as far as the wonderful Avidyne PFD/MFD is concerned. I don't know if Ron will be able to convert the source code for 64 bit or if it would be worth the effort and expense, given that it would still only work in P3Dv4.5 and beyond. Fr. Consider that it is a default aircraft. Don't expect any deep system simulation. The visuals are very nice but it is a default plane after all. FS Professional YouTube Channel

September 5, 20205 yr I don’t think is a good idea to spend $85 for a single airplane which is not complete. If you own X-Plane, the X-Aviation option is great, if you don’t, then I suggest to wait until some developer release a better version of the aircraft regards
September 5, 20205 yr I don´t know if I miss something, but IMHO Cirrus is not that bad. Not perfect and not alone worth the extra money, but I´ve had some quite nice flights with it.
