As it happens I'm currently having a rather nice flight in the A320 while I wait for Asobo to fix the Garmin GPS/Autopilot issues. Have a great day... Two sides of the same coin 😉. We will see how it turns out.
September 9, 20205 yr In this day and age you need to bring realistic titles to the console market because there’s is a mix of young adult market that does not want to turn on a pc . In the GTA world you dont just walk around and drive. You go to work buy cars apartments and the like as you know . Is not tge same market but the money/potential is there sonit does make sense for them to keep it at the same level as on pc . Image removed as image is no longer available.
September 9, 20205 yr Not too enthusiastic that this will become a decent high altitude tubliner sim once the Xbox version gets released. Might just see the Devs concentrate pumping out DLC's for the console and PC game... Hopefully I'm wrong! Chris Camp

Might be lacking a more complex airliner, but other than that, it works fantastic, with flexible ATC and best-in-class graphics from high altitude. - Currently giving X-Plane 12.10 a spin on Shadow PC. 10 years with X-Plane now, since 10.20

Even if that's the case, the hope is we'll still have PMDG, Majestic, FSLabs...creating content for the FS enthusiast, PC market. Gamers will gravitate to XBox, and DLC will cater to them. The enthusiast market will be the same as it is today provided that MS doesn't do anything to sabotage it and its most loyal customers. Thrustmaster tend to make stuff which works on PCs as well as consoles; their T-Flight HOTAS X for example, which is the stick I tend to use, also works on the PS3. September 9, 20205 yr It would appear that the thread has wandered somewhat from the original For those - still interested - this is a URL - for a Microsoft question as to Controls Note that Honeycombe are now on the list - Thrust master and Logitech have been around for a while and I use a Thrustmaster HOTAS designed for the X BOX ONE X https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2020/09/02/designed-for-xbox-new-look-continuous-compatibility/
September 9, 20205 yr How will you play stuff like VATSIM on MSFS on the XBox? Does VATSIM even work with XBox? How will stuff like Clink's Mega livery pack work on XBox? If stuff like VATSIM doesn't work with XBox, if mods like Clink's Mega livery pack don't work on XBox, it seems the PC version will be way better for the more dedicated flight simmers. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

Seriously, Asobo has clearly been building this game to work on both PC and Xbox, and have been doing so for a long while. Just because they will be shifting more focus towards completing the Xbox version than before does not mean that they are in any way abandoning the PC version. Most of their money will be gained through purchases of 3rd party addons to the game - they have a very clear incentive to continue to improve both versions. If you feel you made a mistake in purchasing the game too soon, then that's on you. You could have signed up for Xbox Game Pass for $1 and tried out the game - you had options. The Microsoft Game Studios/Xbox leadership and mission is not the same of old - they have made it a clear that they want to be more gamer focused in all aspects. I trust that they will come through on this. Not much doom & gloom as I read it. Definitely a game though as I've said all along. To many simmers here heaping gobs of praise on MS/Asobo for no reason. Nothing earth shattering with the game except for very good scenery.

I am going to hazard a guess that the VATSIM community and what they see as their XBox Community have very little overlap. While I think it would be fantastic if there was a way freeware mods/add-ons make it into the marketplace in time I do not see it out of the gate. But it is hard saying people said the same thing about the various Fallout/Skyrim/Farming Simulator and those things all eventually figured a way to do it. I think Asobo has a system in place that can work its just a matter of working out the process to vet them properly to make sure they are not liable for things like re-posted add-ons.

The MSFS weather engine is far superior to anything we've seen in flight simming and weather has a very large impact on flight. I'm not a huge fan of the sim in its current state, but even I don't agree with your statement. September 9, 20205 yr To all those happy and content with this PC Beta version issued by Microsoft on August 19, 2020: Would anyone here buy a brand new car with the doughnut spare tire on, and three real tires?
September 9, 20205 yr 1 hour ago, Elvensmith said: I know no company is ever going to admit they botched it, released 6 months too early and charged us £60 to be ongoing beta testers (which in itself only counts if they listen to us) but some nod towards smoothing out the wrinkles would have been appreciated. Out of the box, with all of it's quibbles, MSFS2020 is the most realistic and immersive Flight Simulator experience I have had outside of being in a full motion Flight Simulator. Skyrim, still is one of the most immersive RPG's I have ever played and still play. It is plagued with all sorts of placement errors, pathing problems, and even logic problems. (enemies who still claim there's "nothing there" when they have 3 arrows sticking out of them). But when it works, it works, and it is beloved for it. MSFS is the same way. If MSFS is indeed a "living" program that will have ongoing updates, then we will never stop being beta testers, and to be frank, I hope we don't. The second they say, ok, we're done, then hang it up. No Man's Sky was a nightmare at release because of a publisher's demands. The Dev's clearly cared about their work and the game has been transformed with lots of additional work without any additional charge to the customer. It's a completely new game and the dev's did it without charging an additional penny. Talk about a labor of love. If you don't think that what you have now is worth 60 quid, then fine, leave. But to buy the steak, eat the steak, complain about the steak, then continue to eat the steak is more than just a little disengenous in my honest opinion. People pay 15 to 20 bucks for a single airport and heap loads of praise to the small independent developer and then at the same time grouse about the 60 bucks they spent for coverage of the entire planet, without which your 20 buck scenery add on would be useless. I think it's time to have some perspective here. Things could be worse. You could have invested in Star Citizen.
September 9, 20205 yr If they have the same terrible frame rates we see on the PC version, it ain't going to get good reviews!!

Apples and Oranges. Sure mistakes can creep into a big software title, or anything else for that matter - witness your own post I quote here, where you got the release date wrong. Things obviously got sidelined to meet the deadline during the additional pressure caused by the pandemic, but in the same way you can edit your mistake to make it the correct release date of the 18th, Asobo can tart up their sim, and are in the process of doing so, but in the meantime, we can play around with it and do some tarting up of our own. Nobody sold their soul to get hold of the new sim, you can try the thing for a quid, and to those who prepaid, we knew the chance involved in doing that and I suspect most of us were aware that it wouldn't be perfect on day one, and even if it was, we'd still be awaiting the fancy add-on airliners etc, so it's not like we're not gonna be waiting anyway, but in the interim, we can faff about with the GA aeroplanes and make scenery etc. Edited September 9, 20205 yr by Chock Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
