Yeah i know,  i have a problem now with the patch and if not find another solution, it is the only way for a working patch i'm afraid.

Do u use the ATC? if so, i advise you not to use it. For me that's what makes me crash the game. So don't use ATC and to wait next update for fixed this problem.

And for A320 starts directly on the track or not at the gates. There's too a crash game. What i noticed.

One thing I've noticed now the patch is up and running, without adjusting any of my previous graphics settings, flying over the USA it's like someone turned the sun up to double strength. Everything looks too bright and bleached. Any suggestions as to what I can tweak to tone this down a bit?

Also flying over Midwest USA just fields sweet fanny adams else, checked my frame rate to see the sim running at all of 13 FPS (though it didn't seem jerky) so guess I'm going to have to play around with settings.

Running an I7 4770 @3.5Ghz, GTX 1650 with 2Gb Vram and 24Gb of system RAM.

I have no problem when flying even with atc open, it did not crash any. Only trouble with entering the general tab of options menu, i'm not able to open general tab. Controls and asists tab no problem, i can enter these. But general tab either during flight or in main menu before the flight not.

But anyway thanks for the advice, i will try this, if not help wait for the next patch as you said or complete reinstall.

As far as I could gather, ATC only causes crashes if you use the (default) Azure voice and a MSFS language setting that's not US English. Either switch to US English (not sure if you need to change the Windows language settings for this), or set the voice to Windows Offline or Off.

Hmm... *scratches head*  0 crashes or ctd’s here. Ónly thing that is seriously borked are the controls. Nothing works without being twitchy as a worm on a cooker. The only viable option that ‘sorta’ works, seems to be the x-box controller. Shame. Until the 24th, no use for my nice Saitek Yoke... 🥺

On the other hand, It runs very smooth (for me) on high-end with an i7 5820 with 32gig, a 1080gtx and from 960EVo SSD’s.( and on 3440x1440 20:1 widescreen to boot)

The moment I started-up my favourite bush flight from Vancouver Island, I was completely in awe with the sheer amount of trees, shrubs and bushes that got displayed withóut my rig melting down, or dropping to 2fps.

in the wnd, the sim itself works like a charm, bu I cannot help wondering hów on earth they could have borked the controls AND missed that in testing.. Órr.. they only tried an x-box controller.. that would be so naff..

Yes, indeed, i didn't modify the ATC voice, i'm using the default voice. Perhaps this is the crash and i run MFS2020 in german. I must to run the game in english?

Intersting discovery. “Old” Saitek yoke didn’t work, after patch, not even with calibrating in windows. Shame. However..Saitek’s Cessna Yoke dìd work, be it that to get it to work is a tad odd: First calibrate all axis in Windows, then assign axis to yoke and throttle quadrant. But.. it won’t fully work in FS at that stage, yoke does, sortof, but throttle quadrant does not.

then, full restart of PC and MSFS2020 after that.. and súddenly it works, and with a ‘normal’ controllable range. No twitchiness. Normal sensitivity without toucing the non-working sensitivity-thingy. Mind You, It still is a bit wonky, and it takes some time before FS recognizes the Throttle quadrant properly. Atleast it does at my rig. Sometimes up to a minute. Go figure.

I don’t get why it has to be such a task. But, hey. It works.

I now have a feeling my patch didn't complete which is why the graphics were washed out, I also had the Marketplace button greyed out.

The Steam version requires you to verify the local (Steam) files which then pushes the Asobo side of things. Unfortunately that now wants to download 102Gb of data - effectively the whole game (you couldn't run this title with any form of restricted broadband). Unfortunately almost immediately on starting it was dropping the big files. I have had to use NetLimiter to slow the connection down to 500kb/s due to Asobo servers being so slow and useless.

I'd say try it... either you run it in English, or you switch the voice off or to offline mode... at least for testing it's worth the try!

I'm not sure whether you have to change your system language to run the game in English... I'm German but for some weird reason I set my Win 10 to English, so don't know where to look for the setting in MSFS. Good luck, viel Glück!

I'd like sliders to increase visual quality by working that 9900K a little better and let me decide where to compromise.

That slider exists, it's the terrain lod and it will easily murder your CPU at 200.

Nope, wrong my friend.  Both detail sliders are at 200--and image quality shows.  Only the Rendering Scale is set to 100 or 110 as it kills my GPU.

I think the fundamental difference I'm seeing comes from how I'm setup.   For those folks who can't/won't vsync to 30hz screen, I think the ballgame is completely different.  This fellow, Ianrivaldosmithhas essentially the same system and sees MSFS' main thread get hammered to 100% on a regular basis.  No LP ever goes higher than 55% for me, and most cruise along around 15-30% relatively balanced.  And I've heard the same from others who are continually striving for more frames.  I've found the same behavior in P3D as well so I used the vsync to 30hz there as well.   My sliders in MSFS are only limited by my GPU, which gets replaced w/ a major upgrade as soon as available.  So I'm very close to all sliders sitting at Ultra.  I think what happens and I'm not sure how, is since the GPU doesn't need to crank out greater than 30 frames somehow, seemingly retrogradely, the CPU doesn't need to generate as many to send to the GPU.  I could be completely mistaken as to how it's supposed to work, but there is no question in my mind vsync to 30 just dials back workload bigtime.

I’ve actually got it down to 80-90% now by capping the frame to 50fps using RTSS and becoming gpu limited all the time.
