I'm pretty sure that most gamers are like that.

Also when a player invests $$$ into a gaming rig...  well you get the gist.

Like they did with the F-35's maintenance software. 🤭

I don't feel that I am. I'm not running around in these forums complaining about the things you describe. So you best respond to individual topics not come here and spit in everyone's face by saying "get a PhD and do better or shut up"

Customers have a right to voice their concerns, even when often enough those concerns are not objective because of frustrations coming from individual's tolerance. Never the less, making a new topic that is pretty much a gag order is out of place.

Its also out of place to try and jump on every thread convince others that you better be ok with what i said agree with me or else you’re wrong and pray that the thread gets closed .  the point of some is to bring any positive thread that does not bring MSFS2020 down to the worst there is and lock down the thread and that by the way makes naysayers extremely happy .

one thing is to voice/report  issues in a mature way and the other is to bring out let’s complain blow torch out ...

Face it, it’s a simulator and not the real world. Stutters are pretty much part of flight simulation. Too many of you complain about trivial issues. Look, none of us would have ever imagined that the natural world would have looked so real in a flight sim. The project is a magnificent piece of software engineer. If you feel so strongly about the flaws, go get a PhD in the field and give us the perfect sim. Someone complained about the door knobs not looking too realistic. You want to fly or drive a plane? Unreal.

As for the aerodynamics issues, third party developers will fix those issues. The giants of third party add-ons will give you the plane you want but you must be patient. They are no building a Super Mario game- they’re building complex aircraft.

The flight sim community is the most ruthless and demanding. MSFS could easily abandon the project and others will think twice before jumping in.

Wish I COULD GIVE THIS MULTIPLE UPVOTES.

You know I am growing a little impatient with the people who defend this sim by continually resorting to the future tense:

 "What will be"---

"who will fix"--

"Relax, some day it will work"---

"Just wait another six months to a year, more issues will be fixed".

The most obvious response to these kinds of statements is that it isn't so easy to be patient since they have our money --in the present tense.

"Dang...this post was fabulous!"  Touché!

I used to feel the same as expressed by the OP.  BUT...

Some of the flaws are so fundamental that I am beginning to think MS / Asobo did not pay much attention to their alpha and beta test subjects.

How can the Flight Planning software be such an abysmal failure that I cannot control the order in which waypoints are added to the plan?  What can be more basic to a flight simulator that to tell it I want to fly from X to Z via A and then Y?  Sure - SimBrief and/or LittleNavMap will get the job done but who makes a flight simulator with terrible flight planning?

Now - with the latest upgrade - almost all the water objects and structures over/near the water (in San Diego at least) are underwater.  Bridges start or end in the water. Sure - it is just a "minor mesh" issue but how does an upgrade, carefully tested?, cause such a radical change in the world?

Today on Rwy 9 at KSAN I made a descent approach and landing and was slowed to about 40 knots when suddenly a bright green WALL popped up out of the middle of the runway and I got the black crash screen.

None of that is "button pushing" and none of it is systems related.

I do understand that the future is bright but I find it hard to believe that these errors / failures were unknown prior to the launch.

Impatience is not a virtue Sir.  Luckily, I have only one problem with MSFS and that is CTD using taskbar VFR Map.  I also have that mapped to "M" on keyboard and that is trouble free. (Good workround for those who use it regularly and get the CTDs)

From MY point of view, being problem free, the future is what it is all about, and I am talking about the 3PD aircraft and utilities.

Please do not think that I am gloating here, I really do feel for those who are not enjoying this sim to the fullest (Sesquashtoo is just one) I have heard all the arguments about negativity and the plain old "this just does not work" and whilst I recognise these and other problems do exist, for some, that is simply not the case for all of us.  The fact that the problems are so diverse, so intermittent and that they do not effect everybody, simply means to me, that there may well be a problem with delivery and installation, but the product itself is not all that bad. However, I acknowledge that I am not a scientist nor an expert in anything technical. The fact that they have found over 700 bugs speaks for itself however, but they are at least working on it, and that, in itself, justifies references to "the future"

A cup half full here and I wish everybody else was able to feel the same. Empathy, encouragement, individual research and recommendations to the community, and, of course, MS/Asobo updates are the keys here.

I wanted to say something like this and also add a third component to delivery and installation, that being the wide variation in computer hardware and specs running this graphics intensive program, but I am just not tech savvy enough to suggest this on my own.

Doering,

I thing an incredible majority of us are in the same situation.  The fact that many people are actually trying different things using the "suck it and see" method (which is exactly how I came up with the key mapping fix for the VFR map) and then disseminating that information for others to try, is really what makes this and other sims great in the long term.

What I guess I am trying to say, is that the people who do this, are indeed, showing that they care, for the people with problems, and, the sim community in general. This, in itself, is so much better than just expressing negativity, instead of submitting the problem to the devs and just maybe mentioning that fact and the problem on these forums.

My thoughts only and not intended to inflame the situation.

Sometimes I worry that all the complaining will somehow result in walking away from the project... then you would have alot of real upset people. Like seriously, it is buggy... but it could be good if we just let it develop. They are eager to work with the community. Give it time, it is EARLY days.

I tend to just ignore the really negative complaints (as just like in real life, if someone is that dissed they need to vent and trying to reason with them will just make them worse) and instead try and help anyone with a genuine problem providing any useful information or links they can use.

That said if you think the PC Sim community is overly demanding - wait till it hits Xbox 😄

Think twice? More like think 30 or 40 times.

I have almost no idea why DTG decided to stick their foot into this swamp. I know what they probably intended, but..... I don't think they knew us very well, though I give kudos to their attempt to build a bridge to the community.

Likewise, the Aerofly team is amazingly skilled and dedicated, and with essentially just two or three guys they pulled off a miracle. Even now, their working avionics are more reliable than that put out by the entire 200+ Asobo team to date. Their autopilot actually works!

But I also thought (and think) they were nuts to enter this thankless market.

Now we have Asobo, and once again I have no idea what drove them and Microsoft to do it. If anybody had ever asked me, I would have told them to either run for the hills while the getting was good, or make another shooting game and actually generate some serious profit for their shareholders.

I'm assuming that somebody high up was playing amongst mounds of premium Columbian Catnip, and while delusional, decided to do a flight sim, I imagine right about now the enthusiast community is giving them a serious case of "What the heck did I step in?"

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.
