That is a very gorgeous pic! That's is the same reason I'm sticking with this sim and can't go back to the others.

Thank you - I thought that this was going to be another negative post.

Maybe change the title to "What IS special about FS2020" or "Why FS2020 Is So Special"

🙂

Cheers

There have been so many beautiful, stunning and breathtaking moments like that in this sim for me as well. For me it's not only a flight simulator but an ultimate virtual vacation and tourism sim. It's nice to be able to fly anywhere in the world and get away from it all. Love how you can hear the sounds of the environment, it's beautiful on so many levels.

Yeap, we got clickbaited. Was looking forward for a good cagefight.

Joking aside, that is a lovely screenshot.

Holy moly....what a shot, stunning.

For all of the talk about the ground level innovations in MSFS, it's the mosaic of technologies that enable the look of the sky/clouds in this game that are the real stars for me - and the things that make it hardest to look at other sims now.

The first time you take off on a cloudy day, and finally break through the clouds... it's just breathtaking, and it reminds you what is wonderful about flight.

The sim is absolutely replete with bugs and unfinished bits here and there, and we should keep on Asobo to fix and finish those things.  But I maintain that months from now, when the vast majority of that is in the rearview mirror - you're going to quietly see more and more holdouts migrate to it.

The concrete hasn't quite cured yet (that's a thing concrete does, right? lol), but I believe this is still very much the platform for the future.  I try not to lose sight of that when we get a little overly focused on squabbling with each other about the things that don't yet work right.

Do you work for a newspaper?😄

I've lost count of the screenshots I've taken...

hang on...

445 screenshots (and 232 videos)😱 Not all because they were beautiful, but many were.

OS:     Win11 Home; Mobo: Asus TUF Gaming Z690-Plus WiFi D4; CPU: Intel i5-12400 (Alder Lake) 4.4 GHz
RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 64Gb (4x16GB) 3600 MHz; GPU:  MSI Radeon RX 5700XT [8GB]
SSD:  Corsair Force MP510 (for OS);  2x 1TB & 1x 2TB Sabrent Rocket Nvme PCIe 4.0 (one for sim, two for addons)
HDD:  Seagate 3TB (Data); Seagate 1TB (Programs), ASUS TUF Gaming VG32VQ1B Curved 31.5" monitor, 1440p, 38Mbs ethernet

Fulcrum One Yoke, Honeycomb Bravo throttle, Thrustmaster Airbus TCA sidestick & throttle, Logitech Pro pedals, Xbox wireless gamepad (1st gen)

Great eye candy. Hopefully within a year MS/Asobo will have addressed most of the bugs that have been pointed out by the community. Work in progress.

Even though the MSFS graphics are stunning, as a tubeliner simmer I'm sticking with P3D for the time being.

It must be a divided camp because I'm looking for the realistic environment rather than the techno-pizazz but to each (his or her) own.

Cheers

I’ve learned the hard way with the last two patches that graphics aren’t everything unfortunately!
