October 4, 20205 yr Commercial Member Everyone, because its a great sim, so i would recommend it to anyone and everyone, no matter what they like. Iev seen a lot of hardcore IFR/Tubeliners guys saying they enjoy the great VFR possibilities of MSFS.
October 4, 20205 yr It is for anyone who wants to enjoy flying in whatever form that may come. We have people who have never flown in a sim before enjoying looking around where they live and enjoying exploring the world and learning the basics of flight; people who enjoy bush flying; people who want to do multiplayer flights and gatherings; people who enjoy airliners who are flying the A320 (As witnessed by how quickly bugs are noticed and how much attention the flybywire mod is getting); people who enjoy VFR and GA flying. Who its going to be for in the future? Who knows its a bright future especially once the SDK is better along but seeing all the development news its sure is exciting seeing what's coming out what has come out and what will be coming out. I have not been excited about all the freeware mods as much as I have been lately.
October 4, 20205 yr Not to forget that it will soon be released to the 60M XBox gamerz.. & it is licensed as an entertainment product. Robin "Onward & Upward" ... To the Stars, & Beyond...
October 4, 20205 yr Every human who, for different reasons, coudn't take the "become a real pilot" career path. Bonus points for those with a captain hat and the pc in the basement. Chock 1.1: "The only thing that whines louder than a jet engine is a flight simmer."

Iev seen a lot of hardcore IFR/Tubeliners guys saying they enjoy the great VFR possibilities of MSFS. 90% of all my time in MSFS has been IFR flights in the TBM, so even w/ its troubles it's still far more satisfying to me as a decades-long simmer using FSX/P3D and study-level planeware. I use P3D now only for dusk thru night flights where the outside world hardly matters, plus performance demands can be masked at these times of day. MSFS is far more performance-friendly than P3D 4.5 is. IMO these current foibles in MSFS are easily explained and will settle out over the coming months. I've got about 48h now in MSFS and since patch 3 the only issues for me has been the dolphin dance which appeared w/ patch 3, but it appears to be dealt w/ for the moment by making sure you don't have an abrupt change in climb right when you hit your set altitude, or so I believe at the moment since I've had no more of that since being mindful this may be the temporary solution until Asobo gets in there to address this. October 4, 20205 yr I would say they all apply. You can find users here in the MSFS forum that the choices appeal to.

I'd like to add to that lucky people who have hardly had any problems and are enjoying the hell out of flying thru a far more real world than the stuff you pay $30-$40 a pop for in P3D! October 4, 20205 yr I think all the questions are applicable. I could not load msfs for 3 days...had to format pc and reinstall msfs. I went back to p3dv5...while sorting pc,and what a difference it was. Despite p3dv5 being excellent sim with pmdg and all the addons...it was still nothing like msfs. Despite its issues msfs is definitely an outstanding sim. Just needs few decent planes. Qas

Yup. It is luck because know one can provide definitive guidance on a lot of things. It comes down to whether you were lucky enough to read the right post on one of the many forums before you try to update or install. This thread had a lot on info from people that know their stuff. It is now on page 6. No sticky. No curation of tips. If you were not lucky enough to see it when it was at the top, you may never see it. Other things that need to be answered: Which purchase method is better, Steam or the MS Store? There are drawbacks to each method but what exactly are they? What do you need to do before updating? I read in the thread above that you have to turn off dev mode. That should be a sticky! How do you start the sim? Through XBox or through the MSFS exe? Apparently, you have to start it through XBox to use the Marketplace. Again, this should be a sticky but it isn't. If you use the default installation part, where are all of the files placed? Can we touch anything besides the Community folder without messing up the updates (see linked thread above)? So yes, luck is involved, but I think we have the ability to take luck out of the equation if we start curating essential tips in one place like the Tips and Tricks forum. Problem is the basic stuff isn't listed there and stickied. If there was a getting started guide, fewer people would have issues, I hope.
