I try not to rage against anything. On the other hand I roll my eyes hard at threads that begin with lots of capitol letters and Exclamation points...

If I was an Asobo developer, I would rightly or wrongly feel strongly disinclined to even read such posts, and I noticed Asobo has put up a post from the mods saying that they will not be tolerating it anymore.

Sometimes it helps. I'm not talking about actual whining, but posting a "Is anyone else seeing this?" thread regarding new issues is helpful to me. In one case it led to an answer (the problem is a bug, but there was a work-around), and in another case it at least let me know that I wasn't alone and that many people were experiencing the same problem. Now if I were to post a rage-quit thread in all caps afterwards, well that would be kinda silly IMO (though I might tweet Asobo directly and let them know of my displeasure).

I remember conversations about dual gate mosfets, even caring what a valance electron is, and all that other electronic theory.  I've all but forgotten the details, but I'm glad there are smart folks out there who make cool stuff I can use from it as a result of their electronic engineering skills . 🙂

My brother used have a shirt, cant remember the full quote, but he was an electronics' tech as well and it said something to the effect of "You seem to come here with some frequency, I'm Dr. Dra, tell me where it Hertz". 🤣

The problem is, you aren't giving MS/Asobo your opinion, you are just getting frustrated at your fellow gamers.  That's like going into a restaurant and getting a poor meal and complaining out in the parking lot to the other customers.  

It isn't about airing your frustrations, but about who it is aimed at.  Send your feedback to them via the channels they set up.  Posting about bugs constructively is useful, but posting "offensive initials not allowed Asobo!!!!" when they will never read it here is just annoying.  

Correct me if I'm wrong, and MS/Asobo do visit here, but I don't think I've ever seen it mentioned.  The only people I see here is 3rd party and freeware modders.  

As someone whose decided to get this game in 12-16 months time I do have a genuine appreciation for all the early adopters on here. I never buy a title at launch and its thanks to early adopters (frustration and all) who highlight the problems and make the noise the devs & publisher need to hear.

The result being us latercomers will get a much refined and less buggy product. So a big shout out to all of you 😊

But he need not give it To Asobo, they know already how bad their product is meeting expectations.  He should be entitled to express his opinion of this product to fellow members so they can make an informed decision, not one based on the output of a well trained and paid public relations  firm.

 

I think enough is enough.

I think we have demonstrably proved that point, maybe time to move on. I see another good time waster is happening right now just round the corner regarding "hit any key" 

THAT is where I am headed and I will remain with that until another pointless complaint raises its ugly head.

I love this sim and all the others ... I just do not love what some people are doing to it.  In reality though, it has to be said that they are not really doing anything to it (just us) and MS sales figures, I believe will back this up.

People just need to take a step back. Microsoft is all in on this project. It is going to be a big part of xbox. In fact, I have read reports that Microsoft is spending huge to support xbox, and this a part of that strategy. This is also a technology showcase for Bing, and their cloud platform (Azure) so they aren't going to walk away or let MSFS be a disaster. This is a super important, high visibility project for MS.

As that is probably a true statement, but when you buy yours, we too will have a less buggy and more refined program.  And we will have paid the same amount as you, and we will have enjoyed the parts that worked well for 16 months.  So I am not sure what the benefit of waiting is.  As long as buying it now doesn't cause sleeplesss nights and frustrations, which based on some messages, it does for some folks, not sure why one would wait.  But I guess there are reasons.

That's a great attitude to have.  I'm a day 1 adopter, but I 100% understood what I'm getting into (I actually had it off Game pass already anyway so it was "free" to try).  I'm not going to complain because I knew what I was getting into.  

For me this sim still gives me more "wow" moments than frustrating moments by a wide margin.  Not everyone has the same level of patience and that's fine.

That is true, what I meant was I will not face the initial very teething bugs that you get right at launch. For example when I get MSFS I'll likely be able to immediately enjoy the A320 with no autopilot issues as well as applying the mod that will by that time have fixed a whole bunch of other issues. Its the initial at-launch bugfest I wont face, its the reason I dont buy any game at launch not just this one. Only recently got Fallout 4 for example. The next reason is that Im enjoying XP11 a lot and am in no rush for MSFS. Finally Im putting together money for a very powerful PC, 32 to 64GB RAM etc the works. This is because I keep PCs for a very long time. My current one (see specs) is 12 years old. So I want to future proof as much as I can. Im slow at moving to new games but very much excited for MSFS 😀

Thanks! And yes what you mentioned can be fun and also very constructive. You might find a very significant issue that gets upvoted on the MS forums that then gets fixed in a patch. So you will have kind of really had a hand in fixing the game! I look forward to it, Im not a fan of photoscenery but even I can without a doubt say the visuals do look amazing. However its the planes that really caught my attention from the YT vids Ive seen. Specially the TBM, Carbon Cub & the Cessna Latitude bizzjet. So well done. Cant wait to buzz about in them. I'll use MSFS for visual scooting about and keep XP11 for my Zibo fix 🙂
