Are you doing the repaint in a 3D app like blender or just working on the 2D layout ? if you are working in 2D those results are actually pretty amazing.

It's in the AvSim library for download, link below - although I screwed up a little bit on my first attempt and didn't add a thumbnail so it's easy to overlook. Also please ignore the horrible typos in the first few sentences of the README. I was typing some last-minute additions and the wife walked into the room to talk about dinner plans and whatnot. https://library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=n1533w&CatID=msfs20repa&Go=Search "That's what" - She

Thanks. I made up a layered template to make the 2D DDS files (if anyone would like those, PM me). Ended up doing the whole thing in Paint.net since I have always preferred Paint Shop Pro over Photoshop, but PSP cannot export DDS files to save it's life, and Martin Wright's DXTBMP converter still works but I wanted to use something that offered native support. Turns out Paint.net isn't that bad. And the Developer Camera feature in the sim's Dev mode is really handy. Not to go OT but I would love to learn how to do this in blender, I guess it would look a lot cleaner and I could get that gold paint to be more metallic?. And I think I found a new sub-hobby. Making "hangar videos"...this time with more appropriate music 😁 Edited October 26, 20205 yr by Stoopy "That's what" - She

Making "hangar videos"...this time with more appropriate music 😁 Nice skin and good video, Great choice of aircraft to put in on as well. (BTW - you might be able to reduce the jaggy stuff on the nose by manually anti aliasing with a few blue pixels at 50% opacity in the "steps" . ) I have only just started playing with skins and textures in MSFS. My first effort was fiddling with some dash textures in the new jabiru. Original panel ... (click to enlarge) And below is after adding some texture layers to the flat metal (again click to enlarge) The difference is subtle but I was happy with the result and it is a learning exercise, I am getting to find my way around the new sim . October 26, 20205 yr It’s going to take a while before even commercial developers understand MSFS fully (after the full SDK). Our community Modders are simply sublime! C Best- Carl Avari-Cooper

Looks great! 👍 For such subtle changes that makes a world of difference. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. October 27, 20205 yr Curious if there is any way to tone down the landing light reflecting back at you at night? I like the effect, but it is very strong. Tonight I could hardly see through it, and it was clear... not in cloud.

Tonight I could hardly see through it, and it was clear... not in cloud. This version of the mod apparently has brighter landing lights than default. You find landing lights in system.cfg which should be in the Bonanza community mod folder. The relevant lines will look a bit like this: Quote lightdef.7 = Type:5#Index:0#LocalPosition:3.4,0,0.33#LocalRotation:0,0,0#EffectFile:LIGHT_ASOBO_Landing_B36#Node:#PotentiometerIndex:1#EmMesh:LIGHT_ASOBO_Landing Position moves the light, we do not want to do that. Rotation aims it. Pointing it down more may be handy. Edited October 27, 20205 yr by Glenn Fitzpatrick
October 27, 20205 yr OK my bad ... I think you also need to play with the LIGHT_G36_Landing.fx and LIGHT_G362_Landing.fx files in the mods effects folder as well There are settings in there for range, intensity and colour. Edited October 27, 20205 yr by Glenn Fitzpatrick

October 28, 20205 yr One of the most prolific freeware arenas in FSX/P3D were repaints. Some hugely creative individuals like @Steve Dra, John Tavendale, Christian Mohr, Brian Thibadoux, Jan Kees Blohm, @YoYo, Daniel Furnkas and more did some amazing work. It is my hope that this new sim of ours will soon facilitate that same possibility with ease. Currently, adding repaints seems a bit arduous and daunting...
