One of the most prolific freeware arenas in FSX/P3D were repaints. Some hugely creative individuals like @Steve Dra, John Tavendale, Christian Mohr, Brian Thibadoux, Jan Kees Blohm, @YoYo, Daniel Furnkas and more did some amazing work. It is my hope that this new sim of ours will soon facilitate that same possibility with ease.

Currently, adding repaints seems a bit arduous and daunting...

C

Very easy to add repaints. Really easy!

@DJJose

Jose-

You made my morning! It's so very nice to see real words being properly utilized, rather than the drivel of emojis that seem to be the preferred medium of communication lately.

Do I hear the sound of members riffling through their Oxford English Dictionaries trying to find the most pretentious words they can? 😏

EDIT: No it's the sound of Roget's Thesaurus being ransacked!

👍 Yup! 😁

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

I believe it's the onset of DUS.

Delayed Update Syndrome wherein the said delay causes oomphaloskepsis in those afflicted and idle posts are the result.

When I did option 2 and put it in the aircraft folder and put the texture folder in the plane folder with the panel folder for the repaint then I added the add to aircraft.cfg the repaint did not show up and I am not good at editing the other file either so I'll just wait on adding more repaints to the aircraft if I have to edit other files

Try downloading MSFSLayoutGenerator and rebuilding the layout file.

This sounds like, you are talking about the repaint I did (N1533W).

Sorry you are having trouble.  I made Option 1 for people who weren't good at editing files. 'Specially the "other file" you mention which is layout.json.  But like Glenn says, try to use on the the tools to build the layout.json file for you, those are good tools to have, and I provided a link to a good one in the README file.

Or you cold just go with Option 1 and copy the layout.json file that is provided since it sounds like you have never added any liveries to that yet. I'm guessing if you have added separate liveries, they are in their own folders in the community folder.
