Reaction from Beta tester LM Forum on ugly cloud grid

Featured Replies

I posted several screenshots about the ugly EA mode cloud grid pattern with the updated (also in beta present) at V5.1.

This is what I got back from a Beta tester......

Jaw dropping and hopefully not representative of how LM will handle our reports and inputs.

Quoted from LM Forum this day:

@ MPO910,

If i were flying a jetliner flight and looked out of the VC cockpit and seen your screenshot I would not thing anything bad about it.
Just keep scanning the gauges and enjoying the flight.

Not: I do not fly the plane(s) from outside views.

That guy is a serial pest on the forums, he thinks he is a LM developer with some of his erroneous and false answers he dishes out to various problems users post... Meh ignore him.

This is exactly the kind of person you do not want testing anything related to flightsimming.

Every forum has its Ricardo.

There are two of these guys on the LM forum, and anyone knows (and fears) them. They always trace any issue back to the user. After the guy named by the OP chasing me round testing this and that and whatnot (including switching off the networked(!) FS-FlightControl as a possible cause when I was reporting a reproducible localized CTD) I gave up actively posting in this forum at all. Unfortunately these two guys block nearly any sensible error reports.

Obviously, they are not appointed by LM but LM doesn't block them doing their thing.

Now I'm gone there anyway.

Kind regards, Michael

I've also reported his post for not being up to LM standards.

As an observation, don't you find it odd that someone can post a snotty reply and add...

...'Best Regards'

Always the same plastic responses from him, like a bot 😅

That Martyson dude (and his sidekick Jorgen) are among the most frustrating on on any forum I visit. Their value add is zero.

In my opinion, forums are crazy these days, not only at LM, but everywhere. The current situation seems to be affecting a lot of people, and instead of being constructive, respectful and positive, people are just being the opposite.

Hopefully we'll not end up blocking/ignoring too many.

Try to be happy and enjoy flying whatever sim(s) we may have.

Cheers, Ed

I have seen the grid pattern in the clouds for the first time and I am not really worried about it. If you got something like ActiveSky, REX or one of the other weather addons I would think the grid pattern would be gone. The default weather engine as far back as FS9 was never any good.

Reminds me of a response I got from one of the "support" guys on the REX forums a couple years ago when I was reporting square clouds with their EF product.  The guy said you see square clouds in real life sometimes so it's not an issue.  He then posted what is probably the only shot from google of a squarish looking cloud.  Not sure why companies use people like this as they do tend to represent the company at least on the surface.  I haven't been on LM P3D forums in years......never got much help or insight other than "remove all your addons" and "try reinstalling".
