I do not use Geforce experience, and the only thing I use in Nvidia Panel are G-Sync and V-Sync on, everything else at default.

turn them off and use the Asobo settings, and for heavens sake turn that new speed blur crud off in Asobo.. it directly conflicts with TAA and makes all your cockpit lettering go extreemly blury so you can hardly read the Garmin's..   🙂

Similar tests that I did for a friend showed that the looping started when the ISP started to throttle the download seeing the large download as a torrent or something.   Because the download was being throttled, it started looping.   Using a VPN stopped the looping..  a few hours later after screaming at the ISP provider and getting them to admit to throttling and removing it for my friend with a threat of legal action, there has been no looping since.

Graham

Then it was as I suspected, that the problem has always been with certain ISP providers and not MS or Asobo, personally I have never had any problem with the download speed.

I can't say it is for all cases.. but by monitoring it..  as soon as the throttle came in.. MS/Asobo had got used to the speed they were expecting and a packet came down that was faster than the throttle so it didn't all arrive in time which meant bad packet which meant loop which meant chaos 🙂

Not for me, turning it on actually made view panning silky smooth ...

not talking about the panning.. talking about the clarity of lettering on the garmin controls..  although that may be because I am on lower settings because of my graphics card.. but the speed brur seriously affected the clarity of the "default" Garmin..   obviously not talking about any of the garmin mods  since that is not relevant.

Yep, and the "Not for me" was in response to that. But as you say it's probably because of different settings.

I don't have any AA settings switched on in NCP. The only thing I have active is the High Performance power setting and max FPS set at 35.

So, my update process for the first time, was horrible, went wrong at nearly every stages. Got it sorted now by applying a few tricks and tweaks. Now, it looks amazing, perform even better on my little 1050Ti, and somehow, the satelitte imagery and photogramettry loads in MUCH faster now. And believe me or not, during all the shenanigans to get it to work, i got to see our old friend then "Press Any Key" screen 😄

Long story short, i've never such a mess when updating ANY software, but somehow, at the end, they pull it off.

I would not take some preview videos a year prior of release as a promise any detail will finally be as shown, In this case they could have released it a year earlier. While there may be differences like shadings of the sea, I find the general picture agreeing. I also didn't see this as a preview of the release version but rather of the project for the next years. And that's why they didn't call it FS 2020.

Plus, we had new additions like VR which were not promised at that time at all. And without going into detail because of the NDA, believe me, it rocks!

Kind regards, Michael

Honestly I don't care about VR or other things that weren't discussed pre release. I do care about stuff that was discussed and is not simulated. Especially live weather stuff. If you remember in the "Weather episode" he mentioned the live weather will simulate all weather phenomenon such as humid, smog, fog etc... in reality we got unlimited visibility.

I mean live weather can barely do rain right... not to mention snow is not simulated at all.

Hmm that's an interesting theory and discovery. Which means reducing the download speed prevents the ISP from treating the fast download of these big files as torrents or something like that then. Which would mean the MSFS client isn't able to handle a suddenly throttled download speed. But then that means the ISP would be constantly throttling and de-throttling before and after each loop in this case. How weird. Oh well, at least limiting the download speed solved the issue for me at least. 🙂

Some sort of conflict between your firewall or ISP and the MS servers ????

Absolutely not.  It finally sped up to 5 ~ 10 mbps, and at times as high as in the low 20's.  Finally finished. Had to be servers on their end.  I never have speed issues like that.

Try RivaTuner to lock your fps instead, I get smoother performance with that program.
