Yes that's correct.

So, airline only at first but GA and bizjets in the future, is that correct?

Sorry Kai, one more question - maybe I misunderstood something: Is the AIG Manager a separate software version for MSFS or integrated in an updated version for P3D. And in the second case - did I understand it well that we have to deinstall the P3D version...?

Thank you so much for your great project and support!!

Best regards from Curaçao!

You can "upgrade" your current AI Manager 1.0 to the beta Version 1.1. This version supports both P3D and MSFS at the same time, but since both Sims require different files MSFS will always get its own package in the community directory, even if you have already all stuff installed for P3D.

Understood! Thanks!!

Kai, will AIG AI Manager include a way to filter out specific airlines, or perhaps reduce the total number of traffic as a way to declutter the sky?  I ask because our own flights don't sync will real traffic such that it can just be too busy to get into an airport that has dense traffic happening in real time such that you're going around more than you would like.  Or perhaps a way to eliminate competing flights when on final approach or something along those lines?  Thanks and what's the latest ETA for this software?

Cheers

Noel

You can select each Airline you want via AIM to get installed. Traffic Limiter is set inside AIG Traffic Controller, and there will be a tool by a 3rd party developer to reduce traffic based on filters.

Compared to live AI, our offline AI will interact with ATC, so internal ATC will take care of seperation (at least it should...)

ETA: Wait and see^^ - but very very close

well i think this will have a knock on effect on that other traffic addon what comes out next week, as i wont be buying it now and will pass a donation your way

Personally I would like to see a side by side comparison video explaining the pros and cons of this and the other product. For someone like me that hasn’t followed this project avidly it would be a big help.

Will traffic limiter help to reduce go arounds? Lets say can it limit arriving traffic only? I have successfully imported traffic myself but those low flying planes and go arounds where plane can't establish anymore on final so is circling around airport is quite annoying. I'm just wondering if AIG will still have the same problem until fixed by asobo. Or you have any workaround which at least helps to limit this.

For the 'limiting AI' feature there is a tool that has been around for a few years for p3d, the same tool should be available for MSFS shortly after new version of AIG is released (still need a bit of work but the main features are already ready).

The limiter allows a wide range of settings, aircraft doing go around for example can be deleted, obviously all this will still need a bit of testing to see if everything can be ported but hopefully it will and it can also be improved if needed. Then AIG has some sort of limiter in itself and it will very probably be expanded with time when users will ask for it (because of the 'oh no i don't want to have to install another tool' 🙈 which i certainly can understand) , but well at least there are some options that should be available straight away.

For me, since i have been using AI in sim with P3D, limiting AI has always been important. For example when i'm at EGLL and my oldish PC can't cope with all the surrounding London airports i like to limit to see only the traffic going from/to EGLL (in p3d that could really really improve FPS). My experience with MSFS AI is still very limited so i'm still unsure if all the same things we saw in p3d will match with what we'll see in MSFS (as of now it seems MSFS is a ilttle less 'robust' with the way AI is managed, probably not Asobo priority) 😛

Basically, the AS addon is a paid addon, and all it does is reskins the default Asobo models (the horrible ones) with real world liveries, to an unrealistic extent. i.e. you will have easyjet/ryanair liveries on the asobo 'a330' model

AIG uses its own models, i.e. an A330, will look like an A330, an A380 will look like a A380 as so on, it uses real world flight plans and the best thing it's free,

I am probably missing a few others pros for AIG, but for me AIG is the more realistic option and it's free, and Aerosoft have even said there simple traffic is not meant as a full AI traffic solution, more a temporary fix until there's a more complete solution, which AIG is

Yeah, honestly I think some companies are just trying to cash in on some ridiculous stuff with MSFS. To be frank Asobo should've worked with AIG from the get go... instead of releasing a flight sim with no proper AI. Now I've said it before and ill say it again, I'm not bashing ASOBO. MSFS is my primary flight sim now and I'm grateful for a new modern sim.. but some of the things they have done makes you think who the beep thought that was a good idea lol. Anyway we are not far off from this release by the sound of it, so we are getting there.

One thing that bothers me is that the tutorial doc indicates that AIGTech - AI Manager.exe should be run as administrator. I don't like running anything as administrator if I can help it. What's the reason for this, as I can't think of anything AIM would need administrator access for?

Edit: Just discovered that the AIG Traffic Controller also insists on being run with administrator.

Totally agree, Asobo are happy to work with Devs who have experience with avionics - so why not work with people who have proven experience in other areas such as AI Traffic.
