There simply isn't enough time to make the corrections and then properly test the changes.

Fair points in most of what you say, but not the above. Tweaking the global heading a/p changes wouldn't have taken much time. It is not the length of time that is the issue. It is the bad judgement. If I do a tweak I can reload the aircraft in a few seconds and see the results within 1 minute. If it isn't right I re-tweak, load the aircraft again and observe. It really doesn't take that long. It does take a long time to do very detailed tweaks, but the a/p misjudgement wasn't a detailed hack. It was "tone this down 200% - ah that will do fine" kind of tweak. It clearly wasn't even checked for a few minutes - either that or someone is seriously low on perception abilities.

You are quickly limited.

If you've been following the A32NX mod discussions, you'll see that it's actually a *very* complicated problem - due (I think) partly to some hardware configurations that seem to affect some people more than others ... ie. notoriously difficult to track down.

I was sceptical about MSFS, because I had issues with the installation and struggled with the UI that I found anything but intuitive. Three days later I had 90% of the functionality I was used to in P3D restored - without any addon - and started to enjoy weather and scenery. During these days I also noticed the well known bugs and limitations of the sim and started „zendesking“ eagerly, driven by the desire to get the best and most complete sim I ever had.

Then came the updates - we know what happened. And PMDG announced a minimum 1-year delay for the 737NG, no definitive word (intentions aside) from FSL or Majestic and others, at least to my knowledge. And I realized, that I will have to wait longer than anticipated for the sim that I felt was promised to me.

setting false expectations (if not lying)

And I think here’s where my frustration mostly stems from: The teasers they showed (e.g. 10.000 surfaces , and yet a good amount of motion of the aircraft seems to be baked in) and keep showing (watermasks - needn’t say more i guess), the ongoing promises of listening to the community (just take a look at this thread regarding the night lighting, driven by dedicated people who are being very constructive and are mostly ignored as of yet), accompanied by a continuous deterioration of the sim has made me far more sceptical than I was in the beginning.

At the moment it is a game I still enjoy playing, but trying to overlook the perks and not becoming afraid of updates is getting harder. Nevertheless I sincerely hope it will further develop into "my" flight simulator.

On this case, I don't think so. The 1min to finish the last 30 degree of a turn seems to affect everyone.

As Robert said in the previous post, just the fact to reload a plane after tweaking and do a couple of test would have shown the problem.

there is 3 possible explanations :

- They did not test the new settings

- They did, and found the problem, but they decided to fix that in the next patch

- The person in charge of the AP, does have enough aviation knowledge to see the problem

I think this thread has been excellent, both in giving the views from all sides, and has remained pretty respectful. I also think just about everyone want's to see this sim progress as it's potential is fantastic,

From my own point of view  i think  the majority are just getting concerned in the direction we are heading at the moment. I personally bought it to fly airliners, and some GA thrown in at times. and despite a few niggling issues with the A320, it was usable and gave quite a good experiance. But each update since launch has managed to cause more pressing issues at every turn, and we now find ourselves in a sorry state where the most popular airliner at present has become virtually unflyable.

Couple that with the increased premium we paid for having the 787 etc added to the Premium deluxe version, only to find there were real issues with it from day one, and has not even progressed really since then, now you can see the frustration building.

I do hope both MS and Asobo can get on top of this quickly, as it's all well and fine having great graphics, but it the main core of the sim ie.. the planes don't work.... well.

Hi Adam, I didn't mean it would be easy to track down. Not at all. It is very hard to track down and I've been trying for several days. What I meant is that once you know where it comes from, or can find it, it is for the person who did it probably a quick tweak. The a/p / ai.cfg files could do the same thing, but for each individual aircraft's a/p editable files. This is clearly a global, hard coded tweak by Asobo to which no-one is privy. And of course the A32NX is a much more complex aircraft with a lot of equally complex a/p routines.

But for the smaller, default aircraft the Asobo a/p tweak is probably a couple of lines of code which essentially says:

"if aircraft heading is less than or equal to 50 degrees from heading bug, then reduce bank to 3 degrees."

Not a technical or xml code summary but that's roughly what it does.

Hi Robert ... yes ... agreed 100% (!!).

My own (totally unscientific) pet theory is that it's all linked to the way you can't ever *totally* pause/freeze the sim - and that "stuff" appears to carry on in the background, with all sorts of discrepancies getting magnified with time. In particular, I think control inputs are still being processed (unnecessarily).

A lot of the current voodoo out there seems to point to somehow reducing spurious (but continuous) inputs - by increasing deadzones etc. - which may be a clue.

I agree 100%.  It's not just users who are hurt by lack of fidelity, it's developers as well.  The SDK is broken, firstly for aircraft devs, but also for utilities, such as GTN/GNS and Active Sky.

Many have already switched gears over to MSFS only to find an incomplete SDK.  I imagine they're just as frustrated as some of us.

Most of you lack honesty, you knew exactly what to expect with MSFS and all the leaked beta tester posts. For the more expert among you who know the simulator since the beginning of the middle ages .All you had to do was wait for MSFS feedback in the areas you liked. You knew it was going to be very long for improvement. Now it is point blank shooting,an old activity that continues. To receive the best from a person, you have to accompany them intelligently , it also works for Asobo and Microsoft .The opposite is completely counterproductive. And whatever the reason for its bugs I support them without any shame and with respect and regardless of their skill. If I start to take an interest in your way of thinking and writing, there are a lot more to fix.Sometimes I'm ashamed of you.
