It’s more broken now than it was at launch. And that’s saying something.

It is a bit ironic.  'Gamers' are often tagged here as rather shallow types who are enamored by glitz which typically rapidly fades then on to the next game.  Yet the 'simmer' crowd, patiently coping w/ incremental changes in P3D over years n years and now a decade later it's 'matured'.  3 months out of the most significant release in this arena ever, and some have lost patience already that it is not at least as evolved as P3D/FSX is today, already.

I understand this was likely intended to be TiC, but the irony remains.

Not here it isn't.  AP now engages much less violently, which is largely a plus.  I was getting far more periods of ample GPU/CPU/VRAM headroom w/ sudden onset of sub-30 frame rate prior to the last patch.  The sim runs very smoothly w/ ample headroom in the main thread core to accomodate CPU-intensive add-on aircraft.  Your statement will refer to a few elements of a massive project the vast majority of which continues to function well.  ATC has been slightly improved and there is more to come announced there I believe I read.

General theme of this thread seems to be that things are getting incrementally worse, not the other way around.  Trend is bad and that's why patience is being lost.

Indeed, patience is being lost by the 'sim' crowd, 3 months and a week post initial release     Take a big deep breath it's VERY EARLY in a 10y platform, or so this has been hinted at, and well it should be.  It clearly has the makings of something w/ major sticking power as the world is enhanced more and more over time, along w/ more technically authentic adjustments.  They're working on getting it ready for the Xbox crowd is all and pay lip service to aspects less relavent to that short-term focus.  Of course, this is just my conjecture to help offset the sky is falling sentiment here.

Strange - I am not sure where this is coming from.  I am the OP and I never advocated that.

Most of us are just complaining about the lack of QA on the updates.  I honestly can't see a problem with talking about the issues if we think things should be better.
I actually want the sim to get better and thrive, but if things go in the wrong direction (and many seem to share that sentiment), then surely we can share our thoughts about it on a forum can't we without someone trying to polarise the argument to either love it or hate it?

Its all about individual expectations I suppose, and if some people are fine with where the sim has gone, early days or not, then fine - enjoy it! 👍

You may find it is working great but many have real issues.

And the release version does work better than what it is now. At least the 787 was flyable ...

It looks like the focus is for 90% on visuals and the other 10% on systems and bugfixing.

They should have released it 1 year later after a lot of beta testing : way less issues and perhaps a good enhanced SDK so PMDG/FsLabs could release their ac very quickly...

I understand Gerard, I am commenting only on the lack of patience here is all.  Give it time.

No Ron, I won't get into a side argument with you on grammar (or is it syntax? Go ahead on that one! 😄)

I said...

By we, I meant everyone in the thread who has a point of view, ether way, not just me.  I may be stupid but I am not selfish! 😁  The sentiment was that there is a lot of middle ground here, a not just 'play it or delete it'.

As we have seen around the world lately, there are some agents out there that like to polarise people into the extremes (black or white - no other choice).  As a wisened owl like you will know, the world isn't as simple as that.

34 people reacted to the OP. I think he has the right to say "our thoughts".
