I guess the dozens or so real world pilots who are enjoying the word not allowed out of this sim and posting videos regularly "have no idea how things are supposed to work in aviation." Got it. 😄
November 30, 20205 yr I agree on the topic. Too many no-fly zones. What? Yeah, no-fly zones: - Don't fly at night because of deteriorated night lighting. - Don't fly over water because downgraded water. - Don't fly over tropical coasts or islands because no water masking - Don't fly over aera w because there is low mesh resolution - Don't fly over aera x because there is a mesh anomaly - Don't fly over aera y because there is bad satellite imagery - Don't fly over aera z because there are bad texture tiles popping in and out of existance - Don't fly with type x clouds because clouds are pixelated ...

Got it. 😄 I guess even real world pilots can enjoy games that aren´t realistic portraits of their daily real world flying. I enjoyed flying in GTA5 and Battlefield 2 and 3 a lot...and would also have posted some videos regularly (if I thought anyone would have cared to watch them 😆) - but I would not even compare those games to the airline flying I have done almost daily until this spring... Don´t mistake enjoyment for endorsement. I think this community is obviously suffering a rift, if not even disintegrating at this point - with people like you and some of the other fervents trying to stifle the evergrowing hum of voices of those that are not Beliebers and don´t want to wait this 10 year project out to finally replicate flying in a somewhat realistic fashion. You are doing the game you love so much a disservice, imho.

To receive the best from a person, you have to accompany them intelligently , it also works for Asobo and Microsoft .The opposite is completely counterproductive. And whatever the reason for its bugs I support them without any shame and with respect and regardless of their skill. If I start to take an interest in your way of thinking and writing, there are a lot more to fix.Sometimes I'm ashamed of you. November 30, 20205 yr I am glad to see some are starting to abandon MSFS until things get better...perhaps that will start to get MS/Asobo attention. I assume they have have analytics built into the product that can tell them that. I for one am not as its still better then FSX for me and I can live with the broken functionality as I am not a hard core study level pilot. Having an AP that can follow the MSFS built in flight plan is core functionality and cannot get broken in a release. Its been clear that the Dev process for Asobo is broken and despite the promises hasnt gotten any better. How on earth is the VATSIM partnership going to work when planes for that arena are basically useless? Edited November 30, 20205 yr by marcg11 spelling

I think Asobo has a management problem, somehow they believe that hiring more people is going to solve the problem, that shows the managers don't understand what they're doing. I really think they should revert back to the old AP and stop messing with the autopilot and do other things. The AP was fine before apart from the oscillations and it's going to be replaced by third parties anyway. Nobody uses the default AP in other sims. We need seasons, a better ATC .. also it would be nice to have chat and voice communication in multiplayer. And of course the most important is the SDK.

My son and I were already in mourning because we were hoping for a Thanksgiving Cyberpunk feast. Hopefully that will also hope dull some of the pain of my hardware upgrades. Until then, some VFR flying around my home area is helping pass the time. As an aside, a 43" monitor and Head Tracking is is a glorious way to experience this sim..... Quite happy with that until VR is fully baked along with the rest of the sim.

I’ve already temporarily abandoned it until the next patch is out, started playing Crusader kings III.

The real issue now, is lateral navigation and perhaps vertical, which we don't know if it's 100% accurate

I don’t think that Asobo is dishonest. Honestly 😄. I’d say a little (understatement) deaf to the simmer community as the alpha has shown and maybe stubborn in their vision to reinvent the wheel. The marketing and project management staff of Microsoft is another thing : repeating that they focus on serious simmers, like Neuman does, contrary to all evidence so far, bribing YT reviewers and releasing the infamous trailers to boost sales, inventing that transparency pseudo-democratic gimmick as a lightning rod. I see serious ethical sloppiness in all that. I was and still am happy to see the old franchise in the hands of a new crew. It needed that. I am still reasonably confident in the future. This game brings a lot to the table (I liked Virtuali’s long post in the other thread « Exactly what is MSFS doing better than its predecessors?« even if I dont agree with all he said) but it is time that the team sends the good signals. In a nutshell, make the present release work and deliver what we see in the trailers.
