December 23, 20205 yr I have no idea how or what to read into this.....Seem the big cheese's have stepped in. Mr M "Friends, there is no release imminent, calm down. As you will have seen our communication about this project has changed a bit. We already had a lot of private questions about this. That is NOT because of the release but because we have been asked to change what is being shared a bit. It has been decided this should be more handled by marketing and less by the people involved directly. As a result you will not find a lot of insight in our development processes for MFS in these forums from now on. Of course this does not affect support or our products in any way. It is just a change in communication, nothing more. Clearly this is a rather big step for everybody involved here as we loved keeping you informed. But the current size of Aerosoft means that this has to be handled differently. " Edited December 23, 20205 yr by Nyxx David Murden. December 23, 20205 yr Considering who from Aerosoft was doing the sharing (pretty high up their chain of command), the only thing I can think of is that Microsoft or Asobo must have leaned on them to be saying less about the current state of MSFS development and the Aerosoft interactions with Microsoft/Asobo. This is super disappointing and will definitely impact my decisions to purchase or not purchase expensive aircraft addons in the future if the developers aren't allowed to transparently communicate about their products. December 23, 20205 yr I don't find this disappointing at all. A lot of developers suffer from the "oversharing" bug. I really don't need to know every little detail of your development process, half of which is marketing gobbledynonsense anyways. Release the product. That's it.

You dont have to know every little detail of the development process. You can just ignore the progress post and wait until the product is out if that's what you want. But me.... i do enjoy it and value it a lot. Juan Ramos
December 23, 20205 yr My take on the latest development over on the Aerosoft forum: I think they were just getting inundated with questions about the model, release date, compatible concerns and on and on about every aspect possible. The developers take all this in and then blend with their intentions and report to Asobo. After a while it just becomes distracting and pulls the flow and efficiency down trying to respond and please everyone. Asobo said enough and told the Aerosoft people to concentrate on the product ie the public does not have to know every last detail before the release. I could be totally wrong, but all parties really want this to go right (naturally) for this release in this aircraft category given all the issues with previous GA aircraft. December 23, 20205 yr Perhaps the forum previews have gotten ahead of the product/release timeline and need to be reeled in...wouldn’t be the first time unfortunately for the CRJ. Mmmm i dont think so. Remember that Aerosoft is a different company from Microsoft. The CRJ is being done by aerosoft and will be released as an aerosoft product. Microsoft/Asobo cant give Aerosoft any kind of orders about their product. Juan Ramos
December 23, 20205 yr In my opinion it's Asobo who likely leaned on Aerosoft to stop sharing tidbits of the inner development of the SDK considering how closely Aerosoft and Asobo have been working together. Since Asobo is not obligated to help Aerosoft in these matters (though it's in their best interest), they absolutely have the right to request less information being shared about the current state of the SDK. I suspect a comment was made that Asobo didn't particularly like. That said I still expect the hype train would still be in full gear considering they said most communication about the addon would be handled by marketing.
December 23, 20205 yr Seems like a reasonable business decision to simply let Marketing do what marketing does without additional signaling from the production team. December 23, 20205 yr Why do we have to assume that there is some sort of conspiracy theory that Asobo has asked him not to share things lol. He made it clear, marketing team has asked him to stop sharing stuff because that is their job. Aerosoft got bigger and I am 100% they have this annoying politics between teams, so it could be that the marketing team seen is Matjias has overstepped their job and they escalated that. Saying that Asobo this and Asobo that doesn't make sense, in fact he is the die hard defender of Asobo/Microsoft and MSFS AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 64GB DDR5 6000MHZ RAM, RX7900XT, FreeSync 165hz 1440p display
December 23, 20205 yr It's the sentence he threw in about no more details about the development process with MSFS. If it was just left at "the product is relatively close to release and we are transitioning communications over to our marketing team" - whatever. Great, we can still watch the Twin Otter getting developed. That comment reads to me like someone at Microsoft didn't like what they were saying about something. Or they didn't appreciate the set of posts by all the 3DP before about how they all stick together. Or something. AMD 3950X | 64GB RAM | AMD 5700XT | CH Fighterstick / Pro Throttle / Pro Pedals

Completely agree. If you look at the last release of the CRJ...it was a 6 year cycle of ‘almost here”
