Please read again. Nobody is claiming that MS/Asobo needs to take care on individual mods. The reduced LOD (how far can we see the trees) was introduced with a former MSFS update in December or November. Since then some users have made mods to correct this. Now, these mods don't work either since the latest MSFS update. The only way to correct this (without mods!) is changing the relevant entries in the usercfg.opt file.

Asobo reduced / modified / almost everything, after 18th August 2020

LOD, trees, water, buildings, clouds.

If they continue this way, MSFS 2020 will die sooner than expected.

it is one of the worst quality of this sim - limitations

objects view distance = limited

trees view = limited

i do not understand why asobo can not add a slide to let user control this functions

 

I've stopped flying for now. The sim just annoys me at this point. 😟

The fun of flying is gone. They removed stuff, little by little, with every single update, after the 18th August - release date

Not only the trees. A lot of different stuff

This task is way to much for Asobo.

They are good at gaming, but not at simulators.

Right now, MSFS 2020 looks like XP2020 ( except the clouds )

But anyway, I do have to say I feel your (and other's) pain and I've also been disappointed in the past with the LOD but at one moment I decided to forget about it and enjoy what's good about MSFS. Simple as that. I removed the LOD MOD, decided to not focus on trees in the distance anymore and I was back to enjoying MSFS. And the last few months I never ever even thought about the distance of trees anymore. Obviously everyone is free to stop playing MSFS or uninstalling it but sometimes it is wise to stop focusing on ONE bad thing and try to enjoy everything that actually is awesome. Saying that MSFS looks like XP2020 is simply false but also doesn't help.

Maybe he means XP 20. Since we are at version 11.52 now, that may even be true. 🙂

The tree LOD is not locked. Yes the mod does not work but its not LOCKED by Asobo.

I simply did a test with the Mod fix its not woprking I see LOD as I set it 200.

I edited my

Now trees are just like the LOD mod/fix. 

 

 

Here's the thing though, what you are messing about with is the actual LOD setting that affects many things.

What we use to have with the tree fixes was basically trees only. It allowed trees to be drawn out irregardless of the LOD setting. Asobo had at the very beginning tied tree height to how far trees get drawn and some creative individuals realized that they could take advantage of this by making a very rarely drawn tree extremely tall. This had the effect of extending how far out trees were drawn and the benefit of a very negligible performance change as the fix affected trees and trees alone.

Adjusting the LOD setting as you describe very heavily changes performance whereas the tree fixes barely changed performance at all.
