Flightsim Chair - Looks Interesting

Featured Replies

It's just an adaptation of a motor racing chair/rig. There's certainly a place for those in driving sims but I think you'd have to design it from the ground up rather than using the reclined seat of a driving rig. @Chock it's £249, but that's still a lot for what it is!

OS:     Win11 Home; Mobo: Asus TUF Gaming Z690-Plus WiFi D4; CPU: Intel i5-12400 (Alder Lake) 4.4 GHz
RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 64Gb (4x16GB) 3600 MHz; GPU:  MSI Radeon RX 5700XT [8GB]
SSD:  Corsair Force MP510 (for OS);  2x 1TB & 1x 2TB Sabrent Rocket Nvme PCIe 4.0 (one for sim, two for addons)
HDD:  Seagate 3TB (Data); Seagate 1TB (Programs), ASUS TUF Gaming VG32VQ1B Curved 31.5" monitor, 1440p, 38Mbs ethernet

Fulcrum One Yoke, Honeycomb Bravo throttle, Thrustmaster Airbus TCA sidestick & throttle, Logitech Pro pedals, Xbox wireless gamepad (1st gen)

To those wondering where I got that price tag from for a flight sim product, here's the quote from their site:

' The F-GT Flight Simulator product is available for Europe (628 Euro VAT included), North America ($628 USD), Asia Pacific (AUD$998 GST included) and UK (£518 VAT included).'

So yup, that is the flashier one and the one on the video is indeed 249 quid, but I still think you could knock something up better by yourself, for a lot less than that.

Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

I was thinking of buying this and now yiur putting me off....I agree... its a deckchair isnt it... emmmmm... dont know what to do now.......I thought 249 pounds isn't bad but .......I will sleep on it for a few nights and have a think!

/Go to your local home center and purchase some PVC pipe,  some fittings,  and some PVC cement.    Or if you're slightly more ambitious,  some 1 inch square box tubing and a $70 welder.   That's what I did,  and added a Corbeau racing seat to it.

On a bit less cynical venue, the answers were more along the lines of:

I have the Next Level F1-GT Lite foldable cockpit for my sim racing needs. It’s very well engineered and reasonably well made for the price. The folding cockpits will never be as sturdy as the fixed ones, but I actually prefer that because the wheel force feedback translates through the frame of the cockpit and increases immersion (or whatever ). 🤣

If this had been available when I got the F1-GT Lite then I’d probably have gone for this instead for the benefit of having plates on both the left and right side - the F1-GT Lite has a small plate for a shifter but you have to pick left or right hand side for it.

You guys do realise that stuff like this is made because people do not want to have to build something themselves? You can argue about the price forever and a day, but it's the work involved that most potential customers want to avoid.

Exactly and this chair hits the nail on the head for that very customer base.

I wonder how many people actually clicked the link...

I'm seeing USD $299

I have the race sim version of this chair.

It works really well for my taste.

All types of different adjustable seating positions for different sim styles.

Easily foldable and compact with all parts attached and very roomy in the crotch area.

As for flight simming I could see myself using it for a nice immersive rotary seating position or small sport frame aircraft or fighter jets.

Best $300 I've spent for the convenience and very durable as the craftsmanship of Next Level Racing gets better and better with each new product

I winder if it can be configured so that if you crash, it dumps you on the floor.

A guy would have to be single to own one, or perhaps divorced in the near future😏

Well, if you're single and never expect to bring a companion home ever again, this might be an option.

Then, again, I used to laugh at people who bought "gaming chairs", now I'm sitting in one myself.....

To be honest, if anyone is stupid enough to pay 500 quid for a glorified camping chair with a few bits of tubing welded to it, then I think they probably deserve to have the money taken off them, so I can only wish the makers of this thing good luck.

lol, You're funny!...Always love reading your post!😄

Cards have got expensive. A 3080 was ~$1500 at christmas, now $2000 or more. Everything else nvidia has gone up by about the same percentage.

Even my "spare", an MSI GTX 970TI 4GB Limited Edition as perhaps quadrupled in value since last Fall.  Would think about selling it now but then what would I find to fall back to if the used 1080 I bought last Fall failed?  8 GB 1080 TI's on eBay have clearly more than doubled in price in that same time spam.  I got one for under $300 USD and now they are $750 and up.

Or you could simply marry a person who supports your hobbies and ensures your happiness.

One who makes sure you have a dedicated "man cave" "husbands den" "dad's office" for personal space.

Oh wait this is avsim....nvm🤣

I also find it hilarious people are griping over a $300 sim chair.

Meanwhile they have thousands of dollars invested in darn near new housing construction additions for this particular sim hobby.🙃
