PMS50 GTN750 Mod - Just Wow

The GTN x1 is about half that amount to purchase it ( $48 US) . I believe it has more features too. The only problem is that you can't mount it in the Panel, and  click on it to open it. It has to remain open on another monitor I would guess.

You could keep it minimized and pop up just as when in the panel. In P32D I use both the F1GTN and the RXP. When in panel it's only good for a casual glance, if I want to see detail I have to pop it up. Keeping it open on a second monitor is too much of a performance hit in P32D. With a standalone like X1 you don't have that problem.

The subscription model is a big no for me - absolutely not enough bang for the buck - personally I'm staying with the X1.

Good to know, thanks for the tip. Yes, I don't like the subscription model either.

And $90 for a life time license.. ie: This is essentially their full retail asking price; is absolutely head scratching insanity they think it's worth this price tag.  That price is approaching PMDG prices and all you get in return is a GPS that does a fraction of the real thing from a company you have no history of so their is no faith they'll even be around in six months

People wonder why I'm weary of new payware developers coming out of the woodwork. This is exhibit A.

"PMS50 GTN750 Mod - Just Wow" - headline of the thread.

For me - "Just Wow" is gone.

The subscription model is a NoNo for me and the price for the lifetime license is insane in my opinion.

I loved to use it and as always said - actual navdata with navigraph and the easy way to integrat it into the cockpit was their biggest advantage. But for this price tag no.

For some developers it seems to be the new trend .....

Best  regards

The product is freeware.

The subscription is only for the upgraded premium version that hooks into Metar and Navigraph and will need on going developer updates to keep up with changes in the way Navigraph and Metar work.

There is nothing wrong with the basic version and it is totally free and a great product.

Some of the reactions on this forum on and off are the equivalent of real world people protesting outside the local Ferrari dealers about the pricing.  If people are not happy with pricing then just do not buy it.

@Glenn Fitzpatrick I was reffering to the premium version.

For sure is the basic version for the time a much more convinient solution than the Garmins in MSFS.

But for me - not without Navigraph.

Not sure about they have their own routine like Garmin and have to adobt the navdata from Navigraph. They are using the navdata from the sim. The updates with changes in the way Navigraph is working are between Navigraph and ASOBO.

Best regards

This looks quite interesting - seems to work - puts the image of the GTN750Xi in the VC.

I manually added it to the KingAir and it works as expected.

But not able to operate it in VR, only on second monitor I read and as such it will be a tantalizing experience for me 😞

The premium version is not only Metar and Navigraph - you also need it for user waypoints, terrain page, traffic page, flight plan preview, etc. etc. etc., so basically: you need it if you want to do anything non trivial with the unit. So no, the product is not freeware - the stripped down versio is freeware.

I agree with you. May those that don't want any have fond memories of not getting any. 😏

It's been a long time since I use self serve pump! LOL Most of the time I call FBO. At my home airport we use Atlantic aviation where 100LL goes $7.25 at the moment

So at about 8-9 gal/hr average burn in a 150HP C172, that's approximately $60/hr, or about $1/min.
