Ground textures are a blurry mess once again

Featured Replies

Why not just take a screenshot in the program, instead of a picture of your projector screen.

With all due respect, 120" JVC 4K screen is for MSFS really!

Its not just the ground textures you can see, the Mooney M20 is also a blurry mess. Its all a blurry mess.

Like people have said take screenshots and compair on a "normal" screen.

Well Pointless because we can see it's all a blurry mess. Sorry its not the sim its how your using a 120" projecter.

You could try siting back about 20ft from it and all should be well.

It also would have helped if you had posted your PC spec's and told us from the start that your using a 120" projecter.

Well there you go had to be something to do w/ this system, but who would have guessed this was it.  This is an extreme example of why, for me, even 4K just isn't worth the penalty performance-wise.  1440p a few inches farther away is a great compromise until the hardware can easily manage maximum settings.

Here I use 2x 43” as one wide frontview and imho the image of the ground and objects are too sharp at 1000 ft or lower. So not unsharp.

Try looking at a building 1000 ft away and see that the lines are not so sharp because of distance from your eyes and haze.

In MSFS buildings 1000 ft away are too sharp , as it is also in P3D.

When you use 2 screens connected to 2 different ports of your GPU, the resolution is normally doubled, you see more pixels. If correctly configured, with two 4K screens the actual resolution rendered by the (poor) GPU is 7680 x 2160 pixels.

With one 120 inch display there's no available resolution mode that can give a high quality image right now, unless your viewing position is several meters away from the screen.

Aside from the screenshot issue, I noticed one thing: You're showing photos using a relatively high zoom level inside your MSFS cockpit to view the ground with better detail. Unfortunately, MSFS doesn't really adjust the level of detail for this situation, this is a known issue. Not much you can do about it for now. It's acknowledged, and as far as I remember, they're planning to improve this at some point in the future.

I get this also.  Resetting my internet solved it for me.

What do you mean with resetting internet? Do you mean resetting your modem / router?

I think I've partly solved it for me:

I've done two things:

1. Changed Virtual Memory size from System Managed to a size I set manually. The system only wanted a 9400 mb pagefile, I set it manually to minimum 65536 mb (1 x RAM) and maximum 131072 mb (2 x RAM).

2. I removed a tree mod that worked perfectly fine before the last update, so I don't know if that helped or not. But it might be.

Earlier I tried changing settings in graphics and data but that didn't help.

Now I only have one game breaking bug left: Instant CTD when loading up at some airports, or approaching some airports. Actually most airports. That I haven't found a fix for. This also started with the last update.

yes, thats the issue, but ofcourse he wont aknowledge , the stuff costs loads of money and has to be good . hahahaa

it keeps amasing me how some gamers again and again create their own issues.

You guys have absolutely NO idea. I've got a 65" OLED, 55" QLED,  several computer monitors, laptops and a dedicated cinema room with a 4K projector. Yet you come in here and lecture me with no clue. What have you got experience wise within your home to place such comments? You know what I just upgraded the hardware in the PC and the issue is resolved. Even better I can tell you it was caused by the motherboard and the RAM largely, NOT only the CPU and the GPU. I've owned several IT businesses and computer shops in the past 20 years worldwide, what do I know? Bloody clueless kids. Apologies but people with no experience but big comments word not allowed me off big time. A 4K projector is pin sharp, in a pitch black cave is like looking at a giant OLED no less. I wouldn't have raised the issue If I didn't know it can look much better. I upgraded the CPU to a Ryzen 3600 the RAM to DDR4 high end 3200, and most importantly the motherboard to an MSI Pro board. now where I used to get 10-15FPS I get 40-50. It was mostly due to an motherboard and RAM data transfer problem. Done.

Nice placebo effect too, with the new MB and RAM.

Well, I am just glad you solved it.  So case closed, and no need for any more animosity.

Sometimes these threads spiral downhill quickly don't they?

It is sometimes difficult to get help from people who don't have the same equipment, and your setup isn't exactly common.
