Interested in seeing how the latest update has affected simmers vs what Microsoft has advertised.

If you have higher FPS, a rough % would be interesting for others to see

I'd let you know it it wasn't still downloading. 🐌 🤣

Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

No higher FPS and a lot more stutters still investigating what could be the problem.
Colours are off (green is way to green, to shiny).

Also, if i pull up RivaTuner data, GPU (50%) and CPU (+/- 40%) are not used to the max, not even if i increase the settings to max.
I wonder what causes this.

Just flew across LA in the TBM. Previously this was an unflyable area for me - 15fps or so with render scale at 50.

With everything pretty much on ultra, in 4k and render scale at 100 I got a steady 40fps

And I could set the glass cockpit refresh rate back to high! Absolutely thrilled with this update.

CTD every time  never had this before can start ok then 2 min in CTD  any ideas?

edit.....turned off AI traffic and actually so no more CTD so far......stay tuned

The gauges in the PMDG DC6 are no where near as sharp as before the update.

With a white dot dot in the center of the screen, using an X-box controller for camera, no possibility to turn it off its back to P3D and goodbye to this toy.

No comment ... still trying to get the update downloaded (21 hours and 45 minutes later). 🤐

Worst experience so far.

Controllers lost all assignments.

Planes do not move .

Could not do a flight.

Doing fresh in stall.

I wish there was an option to upgrade.

I'm getting slightly higher FPS, but much better drawing distance. Buildings and trees extend a lot more towards horizon and they stay 3D even at high altitudes, which is something I've never seen before. It is easily the best MSFS update so far, but it is absolutely plagued with bugs. I was expecting it to be buggier than usual (Asobo updates are always buggy when there is a major deadline), but it is obvious that this was rushed even more.

Likes

  • Much better drawing distance / LOD
  • Better performance with much less stuttering
  • Much shorter loading times
  • Better avionics (WT NXi as a marketplace version and "old" WT G1000 as stock)
  • Slightly better lighting (Overall color tint of the everything seem to be slightly changed, also eye adaptation seems to have less effect than usual, so clouds don't look like volcanic ash sometimes. I assume they changed the HDR tonemapper)
  • Better UI

Dislikes (Bugs, bugs and bugs)

  • Altimeter bug
  • Some airports are floating
  • Controls do not move anymore while panning the view
  • Mouse keeps disappearing or randomly jumping
  • Banding on sky and overexposed clouds (I believe this is because they changed the HDR tonemapper, but it seems to have an overall lower dynamic range and therefore tends to clamp some parts of clouds to full brightness, reducing detail)

PC specs: i5-12400F, RTX 3070 Ti and 32 GB of RAM.

Simulators I'm using: X-Plane 12, Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) and FlightGear.

Higher FPS looking ahead. Lower FPS the second I move the camera.

Two CTDs in 3 minutes and that's with the recommended things turned off.

Flickering menu. The world in the menu is so fuzzy I can't make anything out.

One stutter that lasted 10 seconds.

Maybe this is teething stuff. If it hasn't cleared up in a few days then it'll be a sizeable downgrade for me.

I don't understand all the wildly varied experiences.  I've only had one flight so far but it was the smoothest I have ever seen it and the tree draw distance was superb.

That could be part of the reason for a start.

Well, certainly others are having a good experience as well.  It just doesn't make sense to me.

There are so many variables at play (as always) - different hardware, settings, add-ons, even environmental (e.g. ambient temperatures). It's not like we're all comparing our experiences on an identical console. And since this update promised so much in terms of improvements, it's probably less surprising thst it works better for some than others. I'm personally having mixed results so far - great framerates but CTDs and even my PC suddenly turning off on final to Newark after obtaining 48FPS instead of as low as 15FPS previously..
