Are you experiencing long freezes?

Featured Replies

Since SU5 I have been experiencing long screen freezes of a minute or more. Sometimes on the main screen and sometimes in flight. Looked on flightsim.com and found this thread.

When I first experienced this, I thought the sim had crashed but usually after a while it unfreezes and continues. Very irritating.

I do, but it is because of FSUIPC autosave, all intentional.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Yes.  But I still have to filter out faulting mods and add-ons.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR

Can confirm.

Never saw this pre SU5. No idea how to mitigate it, but very frustrating. I can have 40sec freeze both in the menues while browsing and in-sim.

I did experience this yesterday climbing out of PHX on the way to SEZ, I thought it was going to CTD, waited for a while and was about to hard reboot my box, but it recovered.

My first guess is server issues, but I really don't know.  Had a flight this morning without a problem.

I got long freezes in flight over certain places. But this problem started manifest itself couple builds ago

Same here, already pre-existed but got dramatically worse with SU5.

I'm seeing the same thing. I wonder if it's related to USB. When I get the 30 sec freeze my Logitech radio panel lights will flash. I have my USB power management disabled. I've turned off my radio panel for now to see if I get another long pause.

Same. I'm seeing 20-40 sec screen freezes in menu and during flight. Sometimes happen every 10 mins or so. Did not experience this pre-SU5 so this is very annoying.

I get these 1-2 minute freezes also.  Community folder is empty.  The USB power management thing is disabled. My hunch is a server problem, but my hunch is that I shouldn't trust my hunches.  I've not had this problem before the update.

What is that? I am having an issue using my KVM switch between computers post SU5 which freezes the sim to entirely to the point of no recovery. I could try what you've mentioned, but I don't know what that is.

Have you checked the temperature of your GPUs so that they do not get too hot?

I had that with my former AMD GPU. Since I got the Nvidia haven't had it happen once.
