It also wouldn’t be the first time it was stated that there would be a hot fix tomorrow only to find no hot fix tomorrow. Secondly, even if there is a hot fix tomorrow, and I hope there is, they have probably been working on it for some time now since many of these things were listed as “known issues” in the technical notes. Oh, yeah I should've mentioned that the temp drops were actually a secondary benefit of turning it off. There was a thread on another forum several weeks ago and guys were finding FPS improvements of 10 or more and that is my experience as well. There really is no downside that I can see. I only turned it back on after the SU5 update because Aboso claimed they had improved multi core functionality. Much to my chagrin, I did not find that to be the case. Guess what though this sim is already a technological breakthrough and personally I welcome the umpteen sim and world updates (for free!). The nature of software development at this level means unfortunately things will break with each update, but things will also improve. Each and every time something has broken Asobo have fixed it. Kudos to them. I'd much rather have it this way than a sim that isn't updated at all. Edited July 29, 20214 yr by sidfadc Thomas Derbyshire

I believe they did, I can seen better use of cpu resources across all 8 cores, less ram and vram footprint too. No quarrel from me regarding their intentions, and having been in the software development industry for 33 years, I understand constraints. Asobo has stated that they are in this for 9 more years, and I am sure there will be many more releases that take a step backwards, with the inevitable goal of moving forward. Interesting, I’ve been flying with HT on pretty much since MSFS was released as I found I got far fewer shudders with it on. Worth a try turning it off though as much could have changed one year in. Almost 80% of comments are dedicated to MSFS like there is a F-SIM-War! I find the defensive attitude to a simulator quite strange. Surely flight simming itself is what’s important? Obviously it is good for everyone that there is some sort of competition in flight sims. Laminar research have been forced to update X Plane to stand a chance of surviving in a world with MSFS. The two previews they have released so far look promising. I don’t suppose they will have technology like Bing maps data, but if the aircraft fly well and the world looks believable then it will be on my system alongside MSFS.
