That's happening to me.  No update found in store; start MSFS and it tells me there's a mandatory update and takes me to the Store - still no update.

Any ideas?  I'm losing the will to live with this sim!!

You can thank MS for the absolute gong show of an install / update process.

FYI someone over on the MSFS forums said deleting the SimObjects folder stopped the CTD fest they were experiencing.

And for some other types of CTDs, delete the contents inside the Packages folder. It's stuff related to add-ons that is generated when they're loaded for the first time.

My simming system: AMD Ryzen 5800X3D, 32GB RAM, RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB, LG 38" 3840x1600

282.0 MB downloading in Steam... 304.67 kB download in installation manager

Unless this is official the idea is a pass for me.  People that do this stuff wonder why their having major problems with the sim down the road.  We have enough trouble with official updates let alone sabotaging the thing ourselves.

These folders are automatically generated by the sim, it won't break anything.

They don't even exist until you run the sim for the first time. It's no different from deleting the content.xml file.

So far so good! The first flight behind me (about 20 minutes) and was ok, no CTD.
Of course I need to fly more, but I am writing this as quick info.

Restarted and now have a 13.89 GB installation to complete. offensive initials not allowed

What the flip is offensive?

I have the exact same. At 89% it starts looping and after a restart it starts to download 13,89 GiB.

I think it reinstalls my uninstalled airports (LEMD, LOWI).

Enabling Windows Game Mode for some reason solved the CTDs problem for me.

Two airports take 13 GB?

It stores the last state of the planes, so it might be worth backing up in some cases. For instance, the DC-6 saves the engine-on hours in that folder.

my CTD had to be related to some other stuff xD Can confirm now that AI is back working 🙂 Great work ASOBO!

From my initial tests with new hotfix, 1.18.14.0  looks like panning redraw is reduced .. then again every user has difference experience depending on graphic settings.

Yes and they are only a few Kb on my system.  I renamed the folder to .old in case I need to put it back, and I will let it regenerate.

That's possible.  Where did you get that from, whilst it makes sense, it would be interesting to know how you found this out.

Perhaps it might explain why I have always been underwhelmed with my version of LOWI )Haven't tried LEMD yet)

Aerosoft airports seem the worst, 10-12GB each. Ouch.
