August 22, 20214 yr After flying the XCub a lot in the Andes to mountainous dirt strips and high altitude lakes, I want a turbo Cub ! I feel sorry for my poor default Cub labouring to climb over 12000 feet 😃. At least use the great Bush League Legends Mod to make it much more realistic. Also, check out Flightsim.to for pretty serious modded savage cubs including monster truck. You won't like power there. But yeah, a TURBINE STOL airplane would be cool. Twin otter is coming apparently.

August 22, 20214 yr The Savage Grravel is perfect for this kind of work. SU5 compatible with the new effects added as well. https://flightsim.to/file/5061/savage-grravel-monster-truck-in-the-skies Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. August 22, 20214 yr I want an LS1-f ... a Phoebus-C, or an LS3a... Well, a K-21 will do... but all of these only after someone finds out how to properly do gliders in MFS 🙂 Well... and I would LOVE !!! to ear Felis was porting his 742 to MFS ! WOWO that would make me really HAPPY ! August 22, 20214 yr Author I do use the default Xcub and, dare I say it ? yes I dare, I like her 😃 ! Not to say that I couldn't pimp her out with mods but I am a little paranoid about mods. I have no CTD and almost no stutter, MFS is tuned to work smoothly on my old machine and I want to keep it that way. But thanks for the advice, I should and will look again into it. I do not use the autopilot so the default G3X works for me. The aspirated Cub gets a little out of breath in the Andes thin air. Would the Savage Grravel climb better ? I have already brought my Cub at 17,000 feet to pass a ridge (some anabatic updraft would have helped there but this is the topic of another thread) but its a real pain in the rudder then. See, I am not complicated 😋. I just want a turbo ! I saw the AS announcement about the Twotter. I had her in FSX and P3D. Reading how Kok presented the product for MFS on their forum, it will not be a first day buy for me. I keep an eye on the Kodiak and, who knows, maybe ASobo will do something of the Caravan ? Unfortunately, the standard X Cub does not fly like a real X cub does. The Bush League mod brings it much more in line with the real airplane. They also do a Caravan mod, again making it much more realistic. I don't fly anything un modded EXCEPT for the steam gauge 172... that is not too bad. To each his own. I say try it, it literally means dropping a folder into the Community folder. If you hate it or have a CTD, remove it!
August 22, 20214 yr Want Turbo Beaver. Also heard tell of a Pilatus Porter PC-6 in development by someone hereabouts. Both will be awesome backcountry aircraft. "That's what" - She

Simple browse to the Official / OneStore / asobo-aircraft-xcub / SimObjects / Airplanes / Asobo_XCub folder, back up and then open the Engines.cfg file, with Notepad++ Go to the [PISTON_ENGINE] section and change to the following highlighted values:- power_scalar = 1.2 max_rated_hp = 200 turbocharged = 1 critical_altitude = 12000 .....and enjoy your new Xcub TIO-360 200hp turbo-charged bird! (PS... I did say rough and ready 🙂) Edited August 22, 20214 yr by JYW Bill 😎FS2024 • Currently in 'GA mode' : A2A Comanche 2024 & Aerostar • Black Square C208, Bonanzas, Barons, TBM850, Dukes • COWS DA40 & DA42 • FSW Legacy, C24R Sierra & C414 • Echo Falco F8L • FFX HJET, Visionjet and P180 2024 • Got Friends A32 Vixxen • FSReborn Sirius TL3000, Sting S4 and Piper M500 • Flyboy Rans S6S • Skyward DA50RG • SWS Zenith CH701, RV-8, RV-10, RV-14, PC12 • Milviz C310R • Air Foil Labs Bristell B23 TrackIR • BeyondATC • PMS GTN Payware • RealTurb • Axis & Ohs • FS Realistic Pro9800X3D • RTX 3080 • 64GB DDR5-6000NPPL licence holder in the UK

I spend most of my time lately in the Cessna c140 with a 85HP continental - the "50's diner with a tailwheel" as some people describe it 😄 In terms of an altitude capable STOL aircraft, I am looking forward to eventually getting my hands on the Simworks Studio Kodiak:
