Remember to get the Marketplace content and then update stuff in Content Manager after.

Just download and install the new X box app, which Asobo forgot to mention is mandatory for the update. Then it will work

I had the same problem. Log off MS Store and log in using the same email address as your Xbox App.

If you dont have Xbox App you have to download it.

Then try the same thing as your picture in the MS Store.

you don't have xbox you have xbox something something.

🙂

They changed the process and didn't tell anyone. Follow Abram_tank Post.

That is because they don't have a lick of common sense.

So here is my theory: I don't think the X-Box app is supposed to be a requirement for WU6.  Rather, I think after the X-Box release, there is some code in the Microsoft Store combined with MSFS, that won't show the update in the Microsoft Store unless you have the X-Box app installed.  From my understanding, people who purchased MSFS through Steam don't have this problem - they get the update just fine on Steam without having to install the X-Box app.  Actually, there were some people who had this same update problem in SU5 - they had to also install the X-Box app after SU5, to see the update for MSFS in the Microsoft Store.  But the bug was not widespread with SU5.  However, this bug has become widespread with the release of WU6.

My best guess is, the X-Box release for MSFS changed the way the Microsoft Store recognizes that an update is available for MSFS.  Somebody posted a picture in the official MSFS forums that this bug is affecting other games in the Microsoft Store, not just MSFS.

TLDR: This is a bug caused by the Microsoft Store in conjunction with MSFS.  The X-Box app should not be required but this bug somehow escaped testing from Asobo/Microsoft.

The MS Facebook group is full of complaints saying they can't download the update.

More updates in Content manager too, make sure to check  that out as well as market Place updates.

As said in another thread, they owe us a Big Excuse for this messy update procedure ...

At least it seems that one after one gets it managed, which brings me to the strange idea: Was it by purpose? To avoid server stress?  😉

OK, I just installed the new Xbox App, ( which I really didn't want) and click on updates, and now it downloads the update. Why didn't the geniuses at MS tell us that this was mandatory to run the update????

We've been telling you this for hours... 😉

I read your post and 2 minutes later installed the Xbox App.  Is that what you call "For hours">>>>>

What it worked for me, at least with last 2 uptdates, was opening MS Store, hit update and then leave it alone at background around 10-15min. Surfing the web mean while.

Then it get updated.

This is a common behaviour in all Microsoft cloud stuff gears.
