I have heard Jorg talk about updating the update system in some video I saw. I think this is because FS is part of the MS system that it is so complex. There are probably 30 levels of security and IT for the FS group to jump through. Lets hope they can make this easier in the future. September 7, 20214 yr I feel like A fool! Like I know nothing! Sigh! I thought I figured out the update process. This time when you start the sim it doesn't not let you through. I thought that was progreess, But this. Edited September 7, 20214 yr by Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter

There are several X-Box applications but only the X-Box app will trigger Microsoft Store to show the update for MSFS. The X-Box app I am referring to is this one: In addition, as per the instructions here: https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4405345181202, you need to make sure the account using X-Box app is the same one "with the email address (you) used to purchase the sim/redeem the code." You can't use a different account on the X-Box app than you are using in the Microsoft Store (ie. you need to use the account that you purchased MSFS with in both the Microsoft Store and the X-Box app). September 7, 20214 yr Thanks to all who posted their various problems with this update. They helped me get the thing rolling after a restart. It is clear that Microsoft/Asobo have to simplify the updating process. There was way too much confusion. And X-Box App? With that said, it was a major update including the pre-existing world updates and a system update (1.19.8.0). So, for that a thanks is in order for all the work that went into WU6. I am now looking forward to the Junkers JU-52. Looks like an old-timer beauty. Jim Morgan
September 7, 20214 yr OK, I just installed the new Xbox App, ( which I really didn't want) and click on updates, and now it downloads the update. Why didn't the geniuses at MS tell us that this was mandatory to run the update???? Edited September 7, 20214 yr by Bobsk8

Refer to my post about the X-Box app: There is some bug with the Microsoft Store and World Update 6, that requires you to download the X-Box app before you see the update for MSFS in the Microsoft Store. From my understanding, you may not see the update for MSFS in the Microsoft store no matter how many times you reboot your computer, or how many times you exit and launch Microsoft Store. The solution that a lot of people are using to get the update from the Microsoft store is installing the X-Box app. And not only do you need to install the X-Box app, but you need to make sure you are logged into the right account for the X-Box app. If you do that, then you will see the update for MSFS in the Microsoft Store. Please refer to my post above for more details. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM
