October 2, 20214 yr the issue will be (as with any other Simulator) 3rd party can only provide content at the moment. There is no way for us to overrule the internal AI/ATC system so we are stuck with what we get from ASOBO. In the last Q&A they told us that they have start working on some parts of AI, lets hope they move in the correct direction with that 😉 And tbh I have not the time to create a fully standalone 3rd party AI tool for all of the AI stuff^^ Yes it would be great to have all stuff "outsourced", but if I would start with that I guess I need about 2-3 years^^

I have modified the types.xml file from PSXT (thanks for Nico’s help) so all real ac types are devided over the A320 Neo,, B787 and B747. So I have a lot parked ac, taxiing ac and I have landing and taking off ac. Only taking off ac disappear wheh they are about 200-300 ff in the air. I use the Mega Pack ac set but only the ones that display normally (normal textures) when approaching them. Otherwise I delete that ac. Higher the air I have flying ac around me. This is the best I can get at the moment till Asobo has fixed the AI ac ( somewhere in 2022 … ) Thanks,GS - as ever, you post useful information! I'll do some research on RealTraffic + PSXT. Put me on that list for an easy "how-to" 🙂 Adam.

October 2, 20214 yr I'v been a long-time user of PSXT (and liked it), however I stopped when it required a "learning" process to get known which airlines belong to which gates at default airports. This may make sense if you fly for a virtual airline between always the same airports regularly, but is nasty for people like me who are into exploring new terrain. I guess this "learning" for default airports is still required, isn't it? You choose the airport and only the Learner and RealTraffic are running. No sim. The Learner sees what ac/airlines take off/land and taxi at an airport. That data is used to created airport files. It is simple and straightforward . When using P3D you can choose between random places parked ac (depending on Afcad data) but you can also choose real-time where an ac only shows up at the time it is really there at the gate. I was using AIG + FSPXAI then. regards, Gerard Edited October 2, 20214 yr by GSalden 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0

Yeah, all those full motion procedural sims that the airlines use without AI make their simulators useless and just a game!!!! I'm writing United and Delta and letting them know they aren't actually training their pilots and those $30M simulators aren't really simulators without AI.... May as well throw an X-Box sticker on those full motion sims now... While I agree the "Sim" is not perfect labelling it a game specifically because of a lack of AI is absurd. If anything AI makes it more of a game than a simulator as I can simulate the flying experience without AI but AI adds an immense amount of eye candy and visual pleasure to the "sim" It is no way required to simulate flight or procedures though... Not to mention the AI issues every sim seems to have had leading up to MSFS which is how to actually control the AI. Nothing like spawning at an airport and having AI landing/departing in opposite directions, using the wrong runway, crossing the runway in front of you, stopping on the taxiway or runway etc etc. AI has always required heavy 3rd part involvement to work around the actual sims limitations. Thank goodness for people like @Kaiii3 and the add-on ATC dev's who attempt to make AI work in an acceptable manner. By your logic, P3D was just a game until the AI and ATC add-ons came along unless World Airways did it for you... Edited October 2, 20214 yr by psolk Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk

The Pilots that do their 6 month check rides on these sims, must be totally unqualified to fly with the airlines, due to the fact that they are using a sim that has no AI..... What a load of bull. I suppose some might call that progress. Does this happen if you switch to using the Generic models? James
