October 7, 20214 yr I find it extremely difficult to change the NXi zoom with the mouse. Planes are not steady and even with active pause, it's still difficult to maintain the correct position and use the mouse scroll wheel. Is this on the wish list for MSFS improvements? I do realize there are other GPS's and I guess they might not be compatible, but it sure would be nice to have an easier way to change zoom on all of them. I guess the same could be said for all adjustments of knobs, but somehow the zoom bugs me the most. I've watched pilots adjust the knobs and it's very simple in RL. Even the climb rate in the AP is simple in RL, just rotate the wheel. This is more difficult in MSFS. I guess if there were keybinds for every adjustment they might run out of key combo's. Still I wish there was some other way to make these changes. You can't bind it to a joystick button or axis either. I don't think any adjustment of the GPS binds to a joystick. Let the user choose which ones they use the most for example, like the Com tuning or Nav adjusting. I believe XP and P3d have the same issue. Why is this?
October 7, 20214 yr I have the same problem using VR and trying to change anything. I think the best way (but probably not for all) is for all of these sims to adopt and support hand tracking for VR. It appears to be very feasible in other "games" but no flight sim supports hand tracking. I have a spare Saitek throttle controller and I have mapped the buttons to altitude change up and down, heading up and down, and, vertical speed up and down. Muscle memory works for this when the VR headset is on. However, I cannot find a binding for G1000 range in and out and with a bouncing aircraft in VR this is almost impossible to change. You have my sympathy because I do not think anyone can help us with a fix for this at the moment. Regards Tony Tony Chilcott. My System. Motherboard. October 7, 20214 yr I use Lorby AAO to bind a rotary knob on my Xtouch MIDI controller to the MFD range knob (along with several other NXi functions). It works very well.. You can download the trial version and give it a shot, you can use a single button for range in and out using short and long click functions. Eg: short click for zoom in, long click for zoom out

October 7, 20214 yr If you have a saitek radio panel or a midi controller like the xtouch mini, you can program the knobs using spad or axis and ohs to zoom the map and the other buttons. I have it all set up with the xtouch mini and can set up an entire fp without touching the mouse

October 8, 20214 yr I totally agree. The preset views are useful for this or you can tweak them to make your own. I have made numpad 2the default key to zoom right into the GPS , the screen fills with it making it easy to manipulate the rotary knobs. Edited October 8, 20214 yr by ThrottleUp

Is there a preset for ‘go back to previous view’, rather than ‘reset cockpit view’, because I always change my view at startup. i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea
